Well thats that. We are f***ed.
We have one of the worst players in the premier league playing in defence in Mitchell.
We have a couple of the worst midfielders in the premier league in Luka and Schlupp and one continues to be picked instead of Hughes who again was excellent when coming on.
We have the worst and laziest forwards in the premier league full stop. Eze great on the ball terrible off it, Edouard and Mateta are a joke, Zaha is off and Ayew full of effort and diving and nothing else.
And i hope and pray Guaita is back very very soon.
Bye bye Premier league.

We showed spirit in the second half, but it felt like Arsenal were in second gear. Our defence struggled more than I've seen in a long time. Wilf carried our only real threat and worked hard up top.

No doubt Arsenal deserved the win, but the ref and VAR had already decided the result before kickoff. Wilf tripped in the area VAR give it a 2 second review. Palace score the forensics come out. They check the wrong offside call for the second goal and give the fourth despite Jesus standing in front of Whitworth who visibly dives late because he doesn't see the ball. And of course no bookings for the opposition again.

Certainly agree about the 4th offside goal. Can’t believe that was given with that interference?

Much as i back Hughes, his poor clearance straight to an Arsenal player in the box cost us a goal.

Completely agree. I was excited by having Paddy in and wasn't worried if he'd been given until the end of the season but after seeing that lineup Im not so sure.
I thought he'd see Mitchell for what he is and Hughes would be a starter and maybe even Ahamada. I certainly didn't think he'd have the entire team defending until the last 10 minutes like he did.

Hodgson spent 73m euros over his period of time, and received 78m euros income transfer money, so +5m euros, vieira has spent 131m euros in two seasons and received 5.2m euros transfer income, a loss of -126m euros, it is all on Transfermkt if anyone wants to look

I see what your saying but I think he was quite unlucky with it and was just looking to get the ball out of the box as quick as possible. Once again he played some lovely forward passes, was organising people and getting stuck right in.

I can't disagree with any of that.

My only hope is that this really lays out how damn s*** they are and how lazy they have become. If I was any of them, I'd be bloody embarrassed to call myself a professional.

I blame Vieira for the most part. This screams how inept the training has been. How utterly out of their depth the backroom staff have been and how laxidasical the whole team has become.

As for Mccarthys team selection of every player who looks like they are running in treacle.... I'd question the decision of playing the ones you mentioned.

Today was a total cock up yes, but our forwards have been absolutely and totally pathetic all season and they've completely drained everyone's confidence and all we have left is frustration, changing the manager was not necessary, the question is how have we ended up with strikers who are nowhere near good enough and defenders who now should be playing in league one.

PV had no hope of achieving success.

He might be our best player by a distance but Wilf has had a poor season so far. 6 goals and 2 assists is way below his stats for the past 2 seasons. Despite that he’s the first name in the team sheet in the hope he might just produce a moment of magic. He had a mixed day today, hitting the post but losing the ball and giving up chasing it for the first goal. If he goes to a better team next season I suspect he’ll be used as an impact substitute. Definitely won’t get the game time he does at Palace. Here’s hoping he’s saved his best form for the run in before he heads to pastures new.

I said much the same. We had some good chances today and didn’t take them. They had some good chances and took the lot. I still believe we are a much better team on the front foot and we need to take the game to the opposition especially at home. If we do that we will win enough games to stay up
