At the end of the day I do understand everyone’s anger towards this, I really do , however , Roy does not deserve abuse , regardless of how the team performed , we did the job , he kept us up on absolutely no funds basically at all, But I do understand as Viera was suppose to be “the new process” and transition. Wasn’t supported , however I do feel something larger that has happened and the performances of late , the sacking of Derry , the unrest with Botafogo and Textor , the rumour they wanted to sack viera last February when we were doing well, to me something bigger has gone on here and we will probably never know and the only thing we can do is support Roy and the boys against Leicester and try and get out of this mess “This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder

What I enjoy about this site is everybody is entitled to their own opinion. This is mine… Firstly, I’m not at all happy about the sacking of PV - but as others have said, there seems to be more to this than meets the eye. We will never know! Yes…under the circumstances, appointing Roy is definitely the right thing to do. He knows the club, the players, the way things work at CP. It will allow McCarthy to work alongside an experienced manager - and who knows what that might lead to. The bigger picture cannot be solved until we know what division we are playing in next season. At that point, a new manager will have a proper pre-season to set out his expectations, add to the squad and build from there. I for one will be backing Roy and the team against Leicester……let’s rekindle the Selhurst spirit.

Yes…under the circumstances, appointing Roy is definitely the right thing to do.
He knows the club, the players, the way things work at CP. It will allow McCarthy to work alongside an experienced manager - and who knows what that might lead to.

The bigger picture cannot be solved until we know what division we are playing in next season. At that point, a new manager will have a proper pre-season to set out his expectations, add to the squad and build from there.

I for one will be backing Roy and the team against Leicester……let’s rekindle the Selhurst spirit.

He has managed a combined total of 13 points in his last 10 games for Palace & Watford. 0.65 points per a game. Applying that logic to the last 10 games this season will see us gain another 6/7 points, so lets say 7 points - we finish on 34 points. We've been playing Roy ball all season & it's seen us creep ever closer to the drop. Terrible move by the club especially after all the song & dance we made over Roy leaving. Totally right , I mean if and it is an if we stay up and Boro don’t get promoted I would make a serious effort to get Carrick in , but as you say , no one at this point is a better appointment than Roy
