Another position which needs strengthening is central midfield, and Wharton has improved a lot this season and is only 19. It made such a difference having Gallagher last season.. McArthur has been a great player for the club but age and fitness issues have at last caught up with him. I think we need a Gallagher type player and we definitely need a young dynamic box to boxer. Whether Wharton is the answer I don't know but we do need a Gallagher type player. I'm assuming Gallagher himself is too bedded in at Chelsea now and would be way too expensive.
