Which he hasn't been.

Apologies. I was thinking of James Tomkins

I think it was the home draw against Newcastle when he was interviewed after the game because he was clearly MOTM with the studio pundits singing his praises. His reward? being dropped for the next match.

Don't think so , he came on as sub with about 20 to go

And we still need a striker

Hughes over Schlupp for me. Not amazing but clearly more what we need than Jeff. Except Jeff is an occasional goalscorer, Hughes isn't, and in that department we are needy.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

'Twas.

Our whole stand clapped him off as he walked down the touchline... and rightly so.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

This one ?
Only brief highlights but Hughes makes the wrong decision on the Utd goal leaving the man he was marking to score

Lets McTomminay run away from him for the penalty call

Even toward the end you see the ball go forward to Zaha and he is going the other way instead of supporting the attack .

Unless he is tackling someone he just always looks lost defensively . Its why PV didn't play him , he didn't trust him in his rigid defensive formation .

They might as well play Hughes because those in the first eleven haven't been setting the world alight!! While we're talking about midfield players, can Eze have a another chance with Olsie.
The team against Arsenal was an unbelievable bad selection.
Bring back James McArthur as soon as he's half fit, we've missed him soo much.
We really have got to get max points in our next games and the goals will come from our midfield players. I've written the forwards off 6 months ago. They would be useful at Sutton United!

I remember Sutton Utd being Conference level. Not Sunday League.

I think your floccinaucinihilipilification of Hughes is unfair. While I am not about to summon Willo-esque sesquipedalian prose to dress our albino scrapper, I think he deserves more pitch time. Innit.

I remember them in the Isthmian league and when they were beaten
4-2 by Wimbledon in the 1963 Amateur Cup final.
Eddie Reynolds scored all 4 with his head, never been repeated.
Those were the days!

I lived in the Midlands and used to go to Kidderminster Harriers. Harriers went on to great things with an FA Trophy a couple of cup runs and a few years in the league. Then they went back again.
However, Sutton were certainly conference 80s and 90s. I'm trying to remember, just get the feeling there was some Millwall connection with the team those days. Maybe the manager or one of the players.
