I am increasingly leaning to Graham Potter.

He's young, been successful abroad and in the Championship with Swansea and is experienced in the PL.

I can overlook the Chelseas stint as I doubt if anyone could do anything amidst the utter madness there.

He is calm, intelligent and a good motivator - just what our younger players need.

We need Hodgson-like stability now and no more experimenting with unproven ex-players like Vieira.

Of the younger generation around he is the pick of the crop.

You make a very compelling case for Potter, who also did an excellent job at Brighton.

Good on the eye, but how much did they avoid relegation by most seasons?
He did do a good job , but would Parish keep his nerve when we were looking good but not racking up the points, as was the case a lot of the time when he was at Brighton.

In his first season at Brighton, 2019-20, they finished 15th, 7 pts clear of the relegation zone.

In his next season 2020-21 Brighton finished 16th, 13 pts clear of the relegation zone.

In his final season,2021-22, Brighton finished 9th and this was the first season under him that Brighton finished above us, the margin being 3 pts.

We wont hear nothing for a couple of weeks as Parrish will be topping up his suntan in Spain. He is more worried about the way his hair looks than sorting out a new manager. He will be on the blower to his puppet Mark Bright asking his opinion on the new manager. I reckon it will be Gerrard with Roy as director of football.

If your going to slag him off, try and get his name right

It's now reported that we're in talks with Potter.
The new manager saga starts ...

I have not perused any such news today, out with my dear wife this morning and later watched Barnsley v Sheff Wed !

The ending reminded me of our play-off final against Leicester when Claridge scored in the dying embers of 'Extra Time' and seconds later the final whistle was blown.

At least he's used to working with strikers that can't score

I believe Potter over-complicates things and our squad are not players who would do well under him. He's also been undermined by being sh1t at Chelsea and by De Zerbi being better. Under De Zerbi they still play nice football but create better, simpler chances.

I think you're massively under playing Potters achievements at Brighton... Yes De Zerbi has clearly done a fantastic job but let's be real here he inherited a team already playing fantastically well, high in confidence and a group of quality players, the vast majority of which were recruited by Potter.

I can look past the Chelsea stint. I think it's an absolute circus there. To many 'superstars' some of which I don't think he actually had a choice in signing and I don't think he was a big enough name for some of those players to play for.

It's a no brainer for me and I'd take him in a heart beat. I think we will probably end up with Roy for another year though.. It's the cheap option and it would appear that our club have no ambition to try and push on to that next level so it's the safe option as well.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
