88-89 promotion winning season stands out for me with Wright and Bright in their pomp topped with play off final come back against Blackburn. Such good memories and at a time when players were genuinely passionate about the club and cared unlike the money grabbers who don the shirt nowadays (J Bostock). The atmosphere at games was so much better back then too.

In terms of actively following Palace, it would have to be the 1978/79 season. I went to every home game that season and most away games (school got in the way a few times). The final game at home to Burnley is well documented elsewhere, but the penultimate game, away to Orient, was also a great experience. Crammed in to the away end, we could barely move but when Swindle scored the only goal, we went mental !! It was fantastic to see that goal again on the Centenary DVD (which I have only just bought )

We have had some great players at Selhurst over the years, but that team of Sansom, Cannon, Hilaire, Swindle etc - all legends IMO.

Come on you P's

Tough one to call.
my first season 78/79
88/89 the dramatic promotion
89/90 cup final
90/91 finishing 3rd
03/04 another dramatic promotion this time with my 3 sons.
cant choose between these so come on Palace you gotta give me one more amazing season to try and beat them.

Always next year for me, it's so full of possibilities and the disappointments haven't happened yet.

1969/70 - My first full season as a new Palace fan and Palace's first ever season in the top flight. Relegation seemed a stone cold certainty, then beating Man City away then at home to survive. Yes, I know there have been more successful seasons since then, but it was and will always be a special time for me.

Mel Blyth's half-hit backpasses ... a thing of beauty (usually to the opposition centre forward)

The year before for me 1969,clinching our first ever promotion to the top flight of English football,Sat April 19th just three days after our first child was born.
We were looking good that season but didn't think in our wildest dreams that we would pull it off but that game at home to Fulham was the day!!

So my team was in the first Division,I had a Son,Man landed on the Moon and in August I was standing in a brand new Arthur Wait stand watching us draw at home to the mighty Man Utd.

And I was a happy young man!!

........................Then along came Johnny Byrne! and the rest, as they say, is history.....................
