LOL. he would have been what, 8 at the time?
It's actually Saturday where I am. I've got a copy of the BBC footage from the day and can see where I was the whole time.

Just for the reference. We did indeed have to win 6-0 and Man City had to lose. They went 1-0 to Bradford (I think) and Ian Clarkson scored an og after about 15 minutes. That's when the trouble started. After all the fighting had stopped Palace started where they left off and we did go 4-0 up. Because we were a good 30 minutes behind the Man City game we heard that City had equalised right at the end. With 30 minutes to go at Selhurst and knowing there was no chance to go up automatically Palace took their foot off the gas and Birmingham got 1 back.

I was in the Whitehorse and was praising Birmingham for their good humoured party to celebrate relegation. Then of course things went sour and the Police stormed the pitch on horses. I also remember that it seemed to take ages before the police did anything. It was quite funny seeing the Brummies panic when the police charged towards them on horses. They just rann as fast as they could back to the corner. Don't blame them really (for running).

Can you hear the seaweed sing, I can't hear a f***ing thing!

I remember this very well. I had finally convinced my girlfriend to come to a match with me, and what a game to pick. I was in the Arther Waite and my girlfriend was not impressed with what happened. Funnily enough she never came with me agian.

The thing i remember most is the mounted police charging onto the pitch and all the Brummies running in the opposite direction. Priceless.

As far as I recall (because of where I was at the time,) it was actually 11 years yesterday.

I missed this game because I had my leg In plaster!!
A mate of mine who was a Bromley supporter had never been to a professional game before decided to go to this one, anyway ten minutes after the game started he turned up on my doorstep(I lived In south Norwood at the time) with blood pouring from a head wound,he was In the Arthur Waite enclousure,he looked round at trouble behind him and part of a chair smacked him right in the face!!!
It was a long time before he went to another pro game!!

I was in the beloved Holmesdale next to the old fence.

Brum were in the corner, old away section and the ather Waite.

Went off big time after one of the Brum scum climbed the floodlight tower and started to p**s over everyone below, including Brum.

Anyone remember the White Rabbit getting a right kicking by the corner flag? And our steward 'diving in' the away fans?

Remember it very well.

That steward is still at the Palace. Wears an orange jacket, half cast guy and a top man. Straight into the action even against Sunderland a few months back.

Was very frightening. Brum threw adverstising boardings into the packed arthur waite. Funny thing was the same boardings came staight back and one knocked flat this brum scum.
Only time I've seen a 'riot'.

600 stormed the gate as game started. Wright scored the first goal and all went off.

maybe i should've started a seperate topic.
back in the late 80's i went to see palace at the gallstone ground.
us palace were standing on terracing, diagonally opposite the brighton fans, they beat us 3-1 i think.
there fans tried to get in, by kicking at the gates, then about 30-40 palace fans 'managed' to open it and it all went off, i remember watching the brighton running away into the park opposite that end, wasn't as bad as brum, but made you cagey going back to the station.

and it's goodnight from me.......
