I haven't read the thread back, but no-one answered my question as to whether imaculate conception is truly possible and if so how.

Do you think the very first ever human was created by sexual intercourse? Can't have been this person had no biological parents, otherwise this person would not have been the first ever human.

Anything is possible for God, scientists can put a fertalized egg into the womb now, so why couldn't an almight God have done this 2000 years ago, seeing as He is all-powerful?

The case of imaculate conception isn't, is it scientifically possible, if it were then it wouldn't be considered such an amazing miracle.

and this brings us nicely back to the beginning of the thread.

having read the entire thread again, there are not too many questions that have gone unanswered and there have beenvery interesting answers.

i've learnt a lot about both sides of the argument. it is fairly obvious that both sides require a arge proportion of faith and that neither side holds all of the answers.

however, if your belief makes you happy and suits you best then so be it. as long as you can then accept the views of others and hold a rational debate then there are no problems.

so well done Rach for starting an interesting thread and thanks to all (but one) of the posters who have made this thread so interesting.

This will be me then, as im not really to fused on how God works or why we are here. We should just be thankfull that we have been given the chance to live. There will always be people worse off than yourselves.

I absolutley love the way you can justify everything by saying God did it.

Well thanks God for not helping all the people in the world who are unable to have children.

It doesn't wash with me at all, that is not an answer.

And going back to a question Jcreedy asked, where in Gods creation do the Dinosaurs fit in, as well as the ice age?

Why are they unable to have children?

There is a reason for absolutely everything.

The thing is, if God is almighty, it is possible.
I don't understand your problem with that.

God is either almighty or He isn't, you act like it's a cop out to believe He is. That doesn't wash with me.

Why did you ignore what I said about scientists doing it today?

OK, so in God's house wherever he is, he sat there with a petri dish, some sperm and an egg an inserted in Mary without her knowing?

Scientists have been work on infertility and IVF for years, and the first humans weren't created by one act of intercourse we evolved over thousands and thousands of years with thousands of acts of intercourse.

Unfortunatly you can't just make someone and then take a piece of them and make another, for them to live for hundreds of years and have kids, for them all to incestuastly sleep together to produce more??? I take it your God comdones incest? Otherwise how was populating the earth so easy with just 2 people and their chldren?

And its not a cop out for me not to believe God is possible, have my own mind and don't have to believe what is written in a book to tell me wonderful lovely stories of how this world was created and I don't need to live my life and make decisions byt he book either, I have my own mind to do that for me.

Look if the main belief in Christianity is of an all powerful, all knowing God, why do you pick at the other beliefs. Surely if we assume God is all powerful, as this is the main thing, then there is no problem with this at all.

You seem to pull bits out of Christianity rather than look at it in the context of the whole Bible.

Sure imaculate conception without an all powerful God is crazy, but can't you grasp that Christians believe THAT GOD IS ALL POWERFUL!

Gee! God did an act of God, what a surprise, I really don't understand your logic or your purpose in what you say.

God is all powerful, end of.

Scientists have been work on infertility and IVF for years, and the first humans weren't created by one act of intercourse we evolved over thousands and thousands of years with thousands of acts of intercourse.

An all knowing God who created humans probably knows more about humans reproduction than other humans.

Prove evolution, if you will. I am waiting....

Why do you believe evolution.... to me it seems like utter nonsense.

It takes more faith to believe we came from nowhere than it does to believe we came from God.

Unfortunatly you can't just make someone and then take a piece of them and make another, for them to live for hundreds of years and have kids, for them all to incestuastly sleep together to produce more??? I take it your God comdones incest? Otherwise how was populating the earth so easy with just 2 people and their chldren?

You are getting into a whole new topic called Devolution. If natural selection is true, which i believe it is then each time we have kids, they lose genes from both parents.

This means that if there were ever two original humans which both evolutionists and creationists believe (otherwise we get into black's being lower down the evolutionary chain etc), then they must have had the genes for all races and creeds.

The more and more genes you lose down the generations, the worse it would be to have children with someone from the exact gene pool as you, because the child will lose genes without gaining any.

God does not allow incest anymore, that was stopped as soon as necessary, but for the first two humans who scientifically MUST have had more gene options, it was fine medically.

And its not a cop out for me not to believe God is possible, have my own mind and don't have to believe what is written in a book to tell me wonderful lovely stories of how this world was created and I don't need to live my life and make decisions byt he book either, I have my own mind to do that for me.

Yeah because humans do so well when they ignore God. We are making this world such a wonderful place, aren't we.

I'm a Christian. Really good website for people who do want to look into the Christian faith is:

[Link]

I'll try and attempt to answer questions too but I'm not very good at it and get myself into a muddle! However, I believe:

That Jesus was real, he existed, he performed miracles and he died so that we could all have eternal life in heaven.

I believe in God as the creator of the world and all things in it. He created everything perfectly and we're the ones that spoilt it.

I believe in the Holy Spirit as God's representative on earth. I believe that people can feel it's power.

I believe the Bible is a book of truth and the fundamental points cannot be interpreted.

I belive that all humans are sinful but we can be forgiven if we ask for it.

I believe that we all have free will and that we have a choice in everything we do whether its a good or bad choice.

I believe also that it's not God who's turned 'his' back on the world it's people that have turned their back on 'him'.

I cannot believe that we are here by chance and that my life has no meaning but to exist and then die. The earth was created on the perfect angle for life to exist. That cannot be by chance surely??

By the way, I still have questions to ask. I'm not perfect.
