Religion has never really interested me, but a point ill make talking to an imaginary friend is considered strange yet talking to God is not strange???

No-one has proof that either exist so why the double standerds?

Goodness me, what did I start?!

Right, firstly, the "what is a Christian?" question.
I believe that being a Christian is not about belong to a religion or going to church, though both of those things can help, support and nuture you.
From my understanding, and from what the bible says, it's about having a personal relationship with God. It's about believing that Jesus was the son of God as part of the Holy Trinity. About believing that He lived the perfect life on earth, yet He was killed so we might have eternity with God despite our sins (no one else here is perfect, right??)
It's not about completely understanding all those things - if you could understand it all then you would be God - but about having faith.

God may not be here in person now, but he WAS 2000 years ago, and he is still very much in control of the world. There are so mnay more good things in the world than bad things, so many things that we all have to be thankful for.

I can't imagine thinking that I'm here because of one big fluke, I'd imagine it would make place much less value on my own life.

Rach, the muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet of Allah - it is just a different interpretation.

It's scary not having answers to big questions like why are we here, where did we come from and what happens when we die?

The God idea is a nice one as it isn't too difficult for us humans to get our heads around and it provides reassurance that there is life after death. The fact that there's no evidence to support this theory doesn't matter because believers simply argue that it's a matter of "faith" and "of course it doesn't make sense... if you understood it you'd be God".

If people take comfort from such delusions then who am I to burst their bubble? Personally, I think the meaning of life will turn out to be a little more complicated than the God created everything theory.
