John Howard came out today and said 52. British journalists don't know where he got the figure from.

That's pretty normal for John Howard though. ;)

I've just heard that one of my colleagues is in hospital right now at her husand's bedside. He was in the King's Cross / Russell Square tube. He's already lost one leg, and they are fighting to save the other one, as well as his life.

Just when you thought it couldn't hit you any harder... it's so much more painful when it happens to someone you know.

I have never been religious before, but I will pray for him (or whatever atheists do instead of praying) today. Please spare a thought today for Philip Patsalos, and all the other wounded and bereaved.

It was my dream to play for Palace and to make my debut. I've always played for the club so if I'm playing here, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

This is all too much.

As bad and as terrible as I was feeling yesterday, I just can't even start to think about how those families who are waking up to this nightmare must be feeling. To say goodbye to a loved one, to make plans for the evening, to see them off and wait for their call and to never see them again is beyond my comprehension.

I am not a religious man so I can't pray for them but I am thinking about all of those who've lost the ones they love at this time.

I usually get into Liverpool Street on the circle line (from Blackfriars) at around 9:00, sometimes earlier, sometimes slightly later. Last week I started getting off a stop early and getting the Northern Line instead. My office is about 5 mins from Liverpool Street. Yesterday as I listened to the news unfold and saw the police and fire engines rush to the scene I was terrified. From a power surge to the news of an explosion, it was like a bad dream. When my friend phoned to say that he had seen pictures of a bus with its top blown off, we knew that this was definitely what we had all feared for so long.

I did call my loved ones as soon as the news of the 'crash' came in so thank god, they knew I was safe. I'm still a bit shaken up today and haven't gone in to work.

It could have been me. It wasn't and so my family are shocked at the events, saddened by them, angry about them. But their lives are still 'normal.' For so may others 7th July will be the last day that their lives will be normal.

As to those who did it, well, that's an argument for another time. When the shock goes the anger will come. For now, I'm thinking about those who weren't as lucky as me.

I would have been staggered if only 2 people had died from the bus explosion. As it is 13, as terrible as it sounds sounds low for a bus that would have been carrying say over 40 people?
