My view exactly.

So you believe Brighton will never be a match for us in terms of passion of support and are not much better as a rival than the Clowns?
...are you agreeing to when they play everyone else, or just us?

Maybe, but generally it's the away games that excite me with derbies. And getting into and especially out of the Amex is just mental. And the b*stards lock you in. And it's all bloomin concrete. So thinking about it, no, quite happy not to get to play them.

..so you would have been quite happy to not see us beat them 0-2 and dump them out of the play-offs.

I've never understood it.

For me Charlton, man utd and Millwall make far more sense.

Do you think Brighton fans rejoiced when we were promoted. I'm sure they all wished us a long and happy life in the premiership.

I'm sure they were hoping not only to be promoted but for us to be relegated.

Personally I'd love to see them miss out. Not only because of the rivalry, but because they seem to think as they have such a great set up they deserve to be in the premiership.

Missing the point on every level by a country mile.

It's actually not spineless, what an utterly pathetic and absurd thing to say, do you have a sense of proportion or what? I don't like them and wish them ill, get over it FFS.

Yes, utterly spineless to be so scared of losing to them that you would forgo the opportunity to turn them over.

Exactly, this lot seem to wish the weed well! Jesus H Christ..
No doubt they'll be dancing in the street if they go up, WTF?
Living where I live (Horley near Gatwick), there is plenty of Brighton fans and they were spitting poison when we went up and stayed up. What the hell is all the bonhomie with this lot?
No point in trying to reason with them though, apparently you're 'spineless' for wishing the Seagulls ill.

No, spineless for stating the reason that you don't want to play them is in case we lose. Read the friggin' thread.

Another moron completely missing the point.

..I wish them ill, but the thing is we cannot stop them from gaining promotion, if the s*** happens we have to look forward to destroying them and making sure our players understand what they have to do in order to make sure they do destroy them, at the very least break some of their legs!! I'm not joking! if we turn up half asleep then we should break our players legs.....and I'm not joking!

Fair enough, at least you make a compelling point.

I'm certainly not going to wish them success. Should they be promoted, so be it: it'll make for two attractive derby games next season BUT I also find the idea of them crashing and burning in the playoffs (again) almost too tattifilarious for words.

I shall be a temporary Owl for the playoffs.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Is it possible for you to make your point without being condescending and resorting to personal abuse?
