The vote was very close so its a split nation. Now that we're going out we'll have to see how it goes as the democratic process has played out. Its very uncertain times so i hope that it works out for all. Namely that we get controls on immigration but the economy isnt hit terribly in the long run. im unsure that either of those will end of reflecting what the public want.

It's all very well having affected empathy but what are your side going to do about it? You can't Just sit back do nothing yet thank those millions for their 'X's. The UK pop. is still projected to be over 70mill by 2030 EU or no EU. Some very important issues at home that need sorting like housing had very little to do with Brussels looking at the bigger picture. Still, it is good that the disenfranchised and the ignored feel like they have won something and been listened to for a change even if for a fleeting moment and built on sand.

Not sure about the former. The concept of 'bad losers' seems to imply this was a competition. I have been struck throughout by how lightly such a momentous decision has been taken. It wasn't a competition, it wasn't a good laugh, it wasn't the right forum for a protest vote. It will set the scene for more than one future generation. It will deeply impact their lives in a more significant way than almost anything else. Sore losers isn't how I view this, deeply worried is closer to the mark.

Michael, I have said it before and I say it again. A deal will be carved up by the powers that be over the course of the next 12 months and we will be in some shape or form in the EU or EEA. They are not going to allow contagion to happen. With regards to your point, it's slightly disingenuous. I didn't see anything that resembled a vision from the Remain camp on how Britain would be better. I didn't see a vision on how the 'housing crisis' would be resolved or take home pay increased. I view what I did as a protest vote against the establishment. It is against failed politicians like Cameron and Corbyn & a failed elitist project which is the EU. I vote against the EU because it is serving no ones best interests at the moment. It's not functioning well, it's a hotch potch of vested interests. What are 'my side' doing with 'the empathy'? What a ridiculous question. The referendum is over. It is now up to the powers that be to determine the future vision for this country and the grassroots to either approve or disapprove it.

One on FB today said that the 'educated' voted Remain, the 'uneducated' voted out and that in future we should only give votes on important matters to 'educated' people. Imagine if a Kipper had said that? It is almost Rhosdesian to the core. I think everyone needs to go and have a few pints, share a bottle of Sancerre or enjoy a few single malts (whatever your poison), reflect and then get on with life on Monday. Nothing is going to change. A compromise deal with the EU will happen.
