Not really. I started a tradition of going for long runs with my mate on Christmas mornings. We'd get up at 6am and run about 10 miles then go back to our families to celebrate Christmas. That's a great way to start Christmas day.

My only other Christmas tradition is leaving the Christmas party really early when no one is looking.

The only one I have is i HAVE to wrap my presents whilst watching only fools and horses. Same every year. If it's not on tv I won't do them

My daughter was born on Christmas morning in 2013. Now that was a bloody surreal Christmas. Sitting in my own inerds eating Christmas lunch in the delivery room. They even gave me a present and a cracker.

Just the man to answer the many questions. Was it hell. Did you ever have a birthday party and did you move it to the summer as some people have suggested I do. Her name is also Holly so probably inflicted a life of misery on her. Her own fault for turning up 5 days late x

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

One of my nieces birthday is on boxing day. My sister gets peeved that she doesn't really get a proper birthday but as I've said to her before, Christmas and boxing day were here first and people do use boxing day as the alternate to Christmas day in families where they go to one set of family on one day, and the other set on the other.

I find that the annoyance should be the other way around. What used to be a day for all to enjoy is now hijacked by having to bollocks about with birthdays cards, presents and cake etc.

Optimistic as ever

Probably difficult as it happens every year round about the same date.

Its only hell when you get older as you cant go out with your mates, get smashed etc. At 45 i'm lucky if i get to have a drink with my mates on xmas eve daytime but its still a laugh. Wanting to go away for my birthday etc is a no go as well.

When i was younger, being born in the evening and being an only child, Birthdays were always after the Xmas shenanigans and it was quite special. As you get older, you get the raft of "Happy Xmas & Birthday" cards or "happy Birthday at Xmas" sh1te but thats just lazy feckers.

As a little kid, I used to stay with my nan during the summer holidays and she always used to give me an "unofficial birthday" mid summer cos she felt it wasn't fair.

I often get asked "whats it like have a birthday at christmas?", to be honest, i've nothing to compare it with as I've never had one any other time of the year!,

Witnessed the attached display in a Dism-Ember Inns pub in Birmingham last night. Christmas in September, for real?

don't get me wrong, I have grown to hate Xmas for all the other reasons, not for having my birthday then.

It's massively over commercialised as seen this week so far with all the shops beginning to stock up.
