Kelly and Ward are currently the best two full backs at the club .The problem is they are both right full backs and though neither are any good on the left Ward is less useless than Kelly .

Kelly is obviously lacking confidence ,he is a decent right back who has had his confidence shot after poor games on the left .His early crossing is poor ,he needs to take the ball to the line when he has the chance which he did have on at least two occasions yesterday .

Kelly stands at 1,91. He is not a full back. He can't cross, he isn't fast enough and he has only provided 2 assists in 5.000 Premier League minutes in his entire career.
The man is a center back, he started off as such at Huddersfield Town and was only made to play as a right back by Kenny Daglish (who didn't turn up to be the best manager)

Ward and Souare haven't had 2 crosses turned into assists in a PL season SINCE EVER either!!

Irony aside, thank you.
Where do I apply?

It's not just about Chelsea. Crystal Palace doesn't beat anyone these days. Didn't even beat Hull, who is the last in the league and has the weakest morale.

What did that statistic say about 2016? Crystal has been one of the worst teams from the first 4 leagues, making the least points.
It's an ongoing situation and I attribute it to the policies of the manager, who chose the wrong players in the wrong position and let go of some very good players.

It is about Chelsea when you specifically bring them into your argument and insist that just about every pundit/journo is wrong when they say Chelsea appear unstoppable or have no obvious weaknesses.

And if there is one thing Hull have in abundance it is spirit/morale - every player is fighting for his & the club's future which is clear in every game. They were unlucky on Saturday & should have smashed Wet Spam who look like they have a lot less spirit about them.

Finally, concentrate on how poor we've been this season - the calendar year is irrelevant in these situations. Ask Leicester.........

The calendar year IS relevant. It reveals a situation without exit under Pardew.

Ask Leicester if the calendar year is relevant? They won a PL title. That's relevant to me.

Yeah, I get your point, Leicester and Crystal are kind of tied now, but for them it's just a bad break, while for Palace it's normality

Who should he play? Fryers? A player who's taken two years to earn a place on the bench (I think Fryers has improved massively, but he's not as good defensively as Kelly or Ward).

Kelly is playing because Soare had a terrible car crash, and is a back up. Unsurprisingly, as such he's not as good as a first choice, first 11 every week player.

This is true of all clubs. the players on their bench and back up, are not as good as the first 11. If they were, they'd..... be in the first 11.

Leicester didn't win the title in a calendar year though & prior to last season survived after a real scare. The reality could be that they had a fluke season last time out.

The point is, different season playing a different way with different players against different teams (there's a theme here) means that a calendar year comparison doesn't make sense.

What a difference a DM makes. Kante without doubt was one of Leicester City's key important players, and that has become very apparent this season just how important he was for them.

Sure Marahez and Vardy were instrumental in the wins but the role that Kante played there, and now at Chelsea shows just how influential and important a quality defensive midfielder is to a team.

It's the manager's job to build the squad. He's been here for such a long time and he's had soo many transfer windows.

He's brought in no wide defenders of value. I don't know about Fryers (of whose bringing Pardew is also responsible), but the other 3 are average or poor, mediocre at best, will never rise higher than this. So what's the point in keeping them? They'd better promote players from the academy.

Selling Dwight Gayle was also a horrendous move by the manager. Not seeing the potential in that player....that's unforgivable

You're mixing morale with determination. They don't have morale because everybody keep defeating them in the Premier League (well, almost everybody )

They might have determination. Most squads do, but without wins you can't have morale

In my opinion yes, he should play Fryers now. He is (nearly) ready and we have little option.

It is absolutely true that Kelly is a centre back and not a right back and certainly not a left back. We need to be grateful to him for stepping in, it can't be comfortable. And we need to learn from not signing back up for Souare before his accident. This is the root of the problem.

He didn't bring in Fryers? Souare and Tomkins are fine, provided they are actually healthy. One of the biggest problems our back four has faced is how many different combinations we've put out (even with a small pool of players). I don't think you can blame a manager for a car accident.

Gayle? Come on. Benteke has as many goals as Gayle managed in the previous two seasons (in less minutes), and Wickham offers more than Gayle does in open play.

The summer was an unfinished job for sure, but that's definitely been exacerbated by injury.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

But Fryers doesn't play. He only has 100 minutes all season, it's like he's not even considered by Pardew.

Townsend was rubbish cause he's used in the wrong position. Still, he was better than Puncheon. And Zaha was really rubbish against Chelsea too. If I think about it, the entire team was rubbish, I can't name one good player.

Delaney was close to calling an ambulance on grounds that he was old and sick in the 70th minute

Fryers clearly wasn't/isn't up to it. If he was he'd be starting, given the alternative was Kelly.

As for the rest - I thought we played quite good on Saturday. You do realise they're flying, in great form and at top of the league don't you?
