Me neither, however less that 1% of child abductions are by a stranger, and even less child deaths. Its usually the father or the mother in a child death (or the step parent). Which is why the police in the UK investigate both angles. Family and friends tend to be the people who'll kill you. Then acquaintances / friends of friends. Murder by stranger is very rare. And even then its because they're in love with your other half....

Mr McCann is a Consultant cardiologist They have enough income and brain-power to be able to know not to leave children unsupervised and enough money to pay for a child-minder. Major thing lacking for me is motive for the McCann's to make their daughter disappear. I'll keep an open mind, but the longer this drags out, the less likely it is of finding Maddeline and of solving this crime.

Some people are absolutely convinced they did it. When the McCann's did the press conference they were calm and collects. In every other case seen where I child has been abducted parents have been so distraught they can't even speak. People suspect they gave Madeline some kind of sedative to speak, but gave her too much which accidently killed her. To avoid prosecution they have covered it up. The police advised the McCann's not to go to the press as it would make the search too public and put their daughter in more danger. The McCann's ignored this. People say the McCann's determination to bring cases against anyone who even suggests they might have an involvement is suspicious. In an unrelated point - this may not be my view, I'm just reporting opinions of others.

Do you walk to the Ice Cream truck with your kid to get a Choc Ice as you fear the child will get knocked over by a car or abducted? 999 times out of a 1000 it isn't going to happen admittedly, but it will happen to that 1 in 1000 kid.
