There's a nasty bloke at my work who's been winding me up for some time. Always immature and knocking over piles of stock I have stacked at work etc. I've wanted to lay into him and give him a hiding for the last year or 2 that he's been here but I don't do things like that these days as I have a Mrs and a kid and rent to pay so cant afford to be losing my job. This guy bullies and upsets another couple of the guys at work too. He's been reported a couple of times but no one seems to care and he makes people's life a misery at work especially me as I'm always full of anger and wish I could do something about the without getting into trouble and losing my job. Today I find out myline manager has been promoted and I got called into the meeting room for my boss to tell me the Bully has been given the job to be my supervisor. I said it's a joke and how could someone so immature and someone who upsets people and winds them up etc be given the job and my boss just said the decision is final. He called the Bully in to the room and he acted all innocent like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth and said "there will be no trouble from me" but for weeks he has been winding me up saying "I'm going to be your boss and you ain't going to last long when I'm incharged" building up till today. When we left the room he had a smirk on his face. It's going to be hell working under him and I have so much built up anger where I want to hit him so I don't have a clue how the hell I'm going to keep calm when he's up to his usual immature shananigans. I have been going home from work depressed over the last year from all the stress he causes which has been effecting me and my finances relationship. Is there any law against promoting someone who has caused all this grief? Is there anything that can be done about it? I thought there was rules against someone being chose for a job role without anyone else being consulted who might have wanted the job themselves or at least be interviewed for it? I can't believe what a joke of a company it is here to not care and to be happy to have someone like him making people's life hell. I know nothing about this sort of thing. Is there anyone I could talk to to give advice on actions that can be taken?

A bloke I used to work with told me how his friend was so fvcked off with his boss that he rubbed his helmet around the rim of his (the boss's)tea cup when he got sent to make the tea.

Don't think this will resolve your situation but would probably make you feel better.

Don't think this will resolve your situation but in this day and age you could probably film it as well and would probably make you feel better.

A friend of mine used to do all sorts of stuff to his vile boss for years, really simple wonderfully underhand stuff. From what I can remember: signing him up for free tampons / sneezing over his computer mouse / wiping boogers on his chair / making a fake profile of him on Grinder / putting his phone number in the bogs at Liverpool St station offering gay sex. And, my personal favourite and possibly the worst, rubbing his cold sore all over the rim of his mug.

All really childish, but certainly made him feel better when he saw his boss grimacing at his phone with a heavy cold.

One of the houses we painted on the site Im on at the minute has been wasted by a complete c*** and his dog missus(who thinks she's gorgeous) moving into it.They have been nothing but horrible vile c***s from day one by lying and complaining about everyone and everything.Normally Id think to myself "well there must be some truth in what they are complaining about and they must have valid reasons" but I can honestly say that everything they are saying and doing is beyond belief and has no truth in it whatsoever and could get a lot of people in serious trouble. Its quite obvious the scummy ponces are after something for nothing no matter who it f***s up in the process.
Anyway Ive been asked to go and do some snagging in their house, which Ive refused to do, so the site managers have asked me for paint so they can go and do the work.Every time Ive needed a pi55 last night and today guess where its ended up? There house will hopefully be smelling lovely before too long.Im just hoping his dog bird doesn't sniff out where its coming from.
Its more than tempting to knock on the blokes door and smash his smug face in but in most situations at work you just can't so if an opportunity like the above pops up then take it.

I'll be honest, I've never had the pleasure of working in an office environment but if I were you, I'd take him round the corner and give him a f***ing good hiding.
Unless he's a mummy's boy he won't wanna admit to getting a beating from a colleague.

If you're not very handy with your fists, make sure he walks out into the fighting arena first and then punch him in the back of the head.
A simple solution but it works.

I can definitely handle myself. I used to box. This is the biggest problem. He's a nasty little pathetic idiot. It's all MENTAL bullying. If I was younger and living with my parents with no responsibilities and it didn't really matter if I lost my job as much then I would of smashed this guy to pieces on day one no question about it. That is the old me. I am 30 this year, live with my fiancé and I have a 2 year old daughter. I have responsibilities. I have bit my lips for ages and have been on the edge so many times and have came so close to losing my temper and laying into him like the old me would. I can't afford to lose my job etc. That is the problem. He has ended up taking over my brain with his mental bulling and it's destroyed me, made me so depressed etc and is effecting my personal life at home. I have had so many rows with the Mrs from coming home snappy and edgy. The guy has taken over my life and I have said so many times to the Mrs that I need to go to this guys local pub (I found out where it is) and go for him on a Friday night but she has made me feel bad and said I need to think of my daughter. I would love to let loose on this guy and teach him a lesson. It's nearly been 2 years he has been doing this and I have become a mental f*cking wreck.

many moons since past, I used to date an Air stewardess. Exactly what they used to do with passengers who were a pain. The stewards would 'knob the cup' as they called it. a great source of satisfaction apparently

However my wife and I got the opposite result - flying along the Thames from Southend to Heathrow as we were losing height and a small bottle of champaine each to take home.

It is all about not letting people get to you. Hopefully now the "what can he do to make me suffer today?" question is in the past recovery can take place. Take care.

I don't know why but somebody once put my phone number up in the bogs at the bottom of Streatham Common, on the High Road and opposite the Greyhound. I had to unplug my phone for about three months or else I got calls at two in the morning saying "Hi, I found your number in the toilets...".

You need to leave. It's clearly affecting your life so much. Yeah don't beat him up as that'll f*** you for other jobs but leaving will be the best thing for you and your family.

What's stopping you leaving? There's so many jobs out there I'm sure you could do where no qualifications required and pay is ok. E.g. call centres, delivery drivers, admin worker etc. In fact TFL pay really well at all levels and are recruiting grass root employees all the time and offer a decent career.

Leaving will be the best thing you could ever do for you and your family. Don't let him affect your belief system. You will get another job and you will make things work.

As a joke, when I was 14, at school in the generously titled 'IT' class, I printed a load of home made business cards that said 'Andrew Miles Rent Boy' on them, with his home number. Then went to WH Smith and just stuck a load in magazines and newspapers. Genuinely never actually thought people would ring this number. Turns out there are a lot of grubby people in Stratford Upon Avon who like rent boys. I'd also never considered his dad ran his taxi business from that number, so every time the phone rang he'd think it was a job, only for it to transpire to be a random person wanting to bum his teenage son. He wasn't happy.
