Like everyone else the reality is I don't have a clue. But one thing's for sure, we've got our players, we've had a break. For me, this game will tell where we will be playing next season. Hoping for a 3-0 win, but won't be surprised if we get a 0-3 spanking.

Boro have only scored 18 all season and would appear to be incapable of scoring this many, even against us,bearing in mind the freak Sunderland game.
It may be close, but would like to hope we can secure all 3 points and start our much needed revival.
Onwards and upwards.

Which sounds just like Sunderland. I predicted we would beat Swansea 3-0. I was more cautious for Sunderland and predicted a win 2-0. In view of my track record, I am staying quiet about 'Boro.

Swansea were the lowest scorers from set pieces when we went to the Liberty - and then scored 4 goals from them.

Having said all that I am clinging on to my desperate hopes of a two-nil victory. With just enough memory of the Bournemouth game to think it is still a credible dream.

We need goals, fast. Why not bring Zaha into the middle up top with Benteke & stick Townsend in his place if he loves the right wing so much. Then stick Remy on the left with Schlupp behind him & V.A. in defence on the left. With Luka behind midfield in the middle working with Cabaye & Jimmy Mac we can put Tomkins on the right & work Dann together with Sakho, hope fully Mandanda back in goal. That would be my team anyway...but Sam has to make these choices. Don't forget, I said it first! We could just squeeze a win then if we've got the ref on our side for a change.

Big Sams first opportunity to spend a few weeks with the team will have a positive effect. 2 nil win and a performance we all know they're capable of. Very confident, Benteke on the score sheet too.

So your formation would be ..

-----Benteke---Zaha-----

Remy ------------------------Townsend

Schlupp - Jimmy - Luka - Cabaye

PVA - Dann - Sakho - Tomkins

Mandanda

I can see the merits of playing with 13 players, you should become the new manager.

Take away Sclupp, Townsend and this team is about the best we can play with.

was one of my most memorable Palace games. 2 things that really stood out was Mabbutt was so shocked at getting sent off it took him ages to leave the field. Gilbert was sent off way after but was off the field before Mabbutt.
After that Vince Hilaire was fantastic. He just dribbled ball around with no support and with 4 or 5 players around him. He did not get close to their goal but won the penalty that Nicholas scored.

I think we'll know by Saturday evening our chances of staying up. No excuses now. Sam's got the players he wanted (at great expense). He's had time enough to get his'message across ' and 2 weeks without a game to work on tactics. So if we can't now beat Middlesborough at home, we really don't deserve to stay up. I think it will be an edge of the seat 1-0 to palace. ..

Bamford will score in the last minute to make it 0-1. I don't have much faith, and usually the opposite happens to what I think, so here's hoping.

Take out the 2 who won't be fit that will leave the regulation compliant 11...

...It will also leave us with only one centre half and no goal keeper.

An excellent, well balanced assessment,if I may say so.
