A bit extreme and focused on the rather extreme end of the Islam spectrum. Plenty of Muslims would agree that its not ok to kill your daughter if she doesn't believe in the faith. I think just about any right minded person who isn't adherent to a fundamentalist (with an emphasis on the mentalist) would see that as utterly unacceptable.

Its the stupid attempt to cling to and justify our prejudices rather than think them through and confront them, that perpetuates the stupid absurdity. Just like the Farage Romanians bollocks. Sure we can defend it, saying ah you know its just how we are - but it isn't, not really, its just defending our own prejudice from confrontation - because we don't like to think we're 'bad people'.

We aren't, we're just all a bit prejudiced, and by confronting that in ourselves, we become a little less prejudiced.
