Would you rather an upgrade at rb and gk or sign sakho and keep ward and Wayne? Personally I would go all out for Sakho even if it means sacrificing these positions!

Sakho all day. The other defenders all raised their game by 50% with him in the side. Born leader

While I agree with your sentiments. We can't do what pardew did last summer and leave the squad under invested in a few areas. We all love Sakho but like Sam said not at the expense of improving the squad. In my opinion we need 6 players. A gk, Rb, cb, defensive midfielder, winger/striker, creative midfielder.

Andy Johnson Magic, He wears a Magic Hat
When he Sees the match ball, he says he having that
He scores one with left foot, he scores one with his right
And When his playing Brighton, He scores all f***ING Night!

I just feel sakho raised the game of not only the defence but also the whole team....such a character in the dressing room!

He certainly did. I'm sure the Benteke deal was easier to convince the board about transfer due to be a 15 goal striker. I not so sure that it makes financial sense to pay 27m for a centre back. He's been a superb loan signing and without his input we'd probably be a championship team next season. If your on the board, where's the sell on value and can a centre of Sakho quality keep you in the prem for the next 3 to 4 seasons.

He is still only 26 right? Even after 2 years and the way the prices will inflate we could get our money back but say we have (hopefully) 50 million to spend then I would go all out for sakho with a few leaving to clear wages....mutch, fryers, sakho, ledley etc and get a couple more plus sakho in. Do you think Sakho, defoe and Delphi would be a good transfer window if we lost the above?

Let's be honest if he never fell out with Klopp we wouldn't have a hope of getting him....this is a great chance to get a world class defender at palace! No 1 priority with Wilf signing also!

It depends on how much room their on the wage bill. In principle it's great take Defoe for instance, due to Sunderland relegation he becomes a free agent. Therefore can demand 100k wages plus a huge sign on fee. Sakho I would love to sign him. Defoe there's no resale value. Delph great player a certain upgrade on Ledley but he has injury concerns. I think Sam has great scouting network in place to find another luka . We may have to recoup money from a sale of dann or even mcarthur. Last season summer window, we only spent net spend of 10m. With the sales of bolasie, jedinak and Gayle.

We need to keep the proven players - including converting the Sakho Loan into a Palace registered player - whose presence in the squad in August 2018 will not be questioned.

We need to give our young players chances to take.

Please think about Jose Morineo saying that a lot of the young players he intends to include on Sunday are not yet good enough. and the German International Squad now having seven uncapped players.

Our young players need exposure at the highest level - as part of a team that has strength.

Buy Sahko and that's non-negotiable. You can't go 'the next step up' without paying the 'next step up'. Crystal Palace is still not the dream club to play for, and Sahko loves it here, wouldn't have got a sniff if Klopp hadn't gone off him, and he's tried and proven QUALITY, young and we'd get our dosh back plus some.

The money you pay for players isn't down the drain, they are valuable assets, some depreciate some appreciate in value but it's not money down the drain.

Sahko has many advantages: improves others values, increases club kudos for buying new players. [We should also continue on the French theme so that the France team selectors come and look at us.]

And we sell Mandanda if he wants to leave and replace, sell others who are leaving and buy our RB and CF. It's not either/or.

This! With a shrewd bit of business (and some players moving on to pastures new), we should be able to inject quite a bit of new life into the squad. Big Sam will already being sending his scouts out.
