Not quoted, seeing as he's gone to Watford.

I am a fan of Gary Monk but I don't think that him as our manager would work for us unfortunately. He likes possesion football and for his teams to be on the front foot and although we have some quality attacking players, as a team possesion based football doesn't really work for us as we don't usually play too well when teams allow us to have the ball a lot. But who knows, he might be willing to adapt his style a bit to suit us if he was to be appointed

What 'relevations'? Have I missed something?

I must have missed something. The revelation he's getting on a bit and wishes to retire. If he takes another management job inside two years he will have to pay his bonus back is my understanding. What's the issue. I wish he had stayed but he's gone. Let's move on shall we.

Ever wondered why he lost the England job?

No I haven't wondered.
I KNOW why as do the rest of the population. Old news , not a 'revelation' and has diddly squat to do with crystal palace football club.

Gary Monk = Pardew ,how Leeds failed to get into the play-offs ,is beyond me ,any manager worth his salt should have been able to motivate his team in those last few games (look at Holloway and Dowie).Monk would be a disaster

Mancini would suit us more than any other being mentioned . A manager who puts not conceding as his highest priority ,his counter attacking style is right up our street .
Cant actually see anyone that comes close to our needs

Get Mancini !

The only one that really excites me too.
We never thought we would sign the likes of Cabaye, then Benteke, then Townsend and we never thought we'd pay Wilf 110k a week so maybe getting Mancini isn't such a distant dream.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Not quite; we would receive compensation from the employing club, which most facing the trapdoor would be happy to pay.

Monk was at Swansea as a player so he knew the club, supporters, the setup etc.
He took over a club that had a lot of decent players in the likes of Ben Davies,Neil Taylor,Ashley Williams, Pablo Hernandez, Ki,Shelvey,Bony,Michu etc etc.
But he did make decent signings in Fabianski, Gomis, Sigurdsson,Naughton,Fernandez etc etc.But Swansea at the time had a reputation as a well-run club with a passing philosophy so maybe this made it easier to attract players.

So we don't have decent players and not a well run club?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'David Wagner..' by Guntrisoft

I'd also like to see Wagner interviewed with a couple of others. (Monk and Dyche if they're still available.
It will all depend on Hiddersfield losing today.
Wagner would be a gutsy appointment but I feel he'd do great things and we need someone like Wagner to galvanise us and give us a unique style.
Sometimes you just need to throw the cards in the air to push things forward.

The only "wondering" I did was why. Man is asked "do you know how to get round the third-party ownership rules" and, when he says he does, is offered a job. He replies "I'd need to talk to the FA first about it". It seemed a total over-reaction by the FA to me, but it did do us a right favour.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Jokanovic' by Guntrisoft

I think the whole premier league experience talk is overplayed. I want a manager who will commit to the club for the medium term. We're an attractive proposition these days and SP has shown himself to be a chairman who backs his managers in the transfer market and supports them when times get a little tough (arguably too much so with AP). I'd like to see Jokanovic get it. Failing that give Hoddle a chance to resurrect his managerial career. Monk did a good job at Swansea (up until they sold the top scorer) and lets face it Leeds were a bit of a joke before he turned them around on peanuts - you can make a case for him depending on how charitable your feeling.
