On the contrary Stirling, after forensically examining Darwins theory of Evolution, AND the Big Bang theory I can to an educated conclusion;

That the most logical explanation for the Universe and everything in it, came from a Creator , who/which exists outside of the constraints of time, having in fact created those same constraints.

This will be my final post on this thread , but you can be assured that it was first logic that brought me to faith.

I could state lots of things without anything to back them up with as well.

I studied thermal dynamics and came to the conclusion that my fridge was in fact just a hardened form of Mars Bar.

This will be my final post on this hardened Mars Bar matter. I refuse to debate it.... but you can be assured that it was first logic that brought me to this conclusion and not wishful magical thinking.

Right...that's that sorted then.

Evidence for the big bang is strong though there are some interesting theories out there....but BB is our best reasoning by a long mark.

I think it's important to say that just because we might not have 'evidence' for something that this means that a philosophy is a reasonable replacement.

For most of human existence we didn't have much evidence for most things....We are lucky to live in an age of wonders...an enlightenment.

Well we are back to my previous point. It is just as much a leap of faith to believe that the big bang happened spontaneously than it is to believe that omnipotent being caused it.

Why should you 'believe' in something? Or say that a fantasy explanation is just as valid as 'best fit' explanations gained from the culmination of countless of hours of work from some of history's best minds.

What's wrong with saying 'we are working on it'.

No mainstream religion mentions anything like a big bang. It's only science that even allows for you to introduce fantasy into the mix....If it weren't for Science you'd just have, 'In the beginning'.

Of course not, but so many 'experts' on here with minimal knowledge/experience, means the thread might as well be about Paedophilia v Necrophelia.(unless Cucking is involved )

BTW I'm not indoctrinated by religious clap trap, I came to faith initially by a logical examination of it and science, and then that was deepened massively by a spiritual awakening.

But that doesn't fit your narrow view point does it? I think you vastly underestimate people in this, but that seems to be something you do of anyone with a different point of view and/ore experience.

Its ironic that you exhibit so much of what you claim religion perpetuates, close mindedness, sweeping judgements, lack of tolerance.

Frankly anyone looking across these boards and assessing those character traits, might place you at the top of any list.

Something to think about?

Hmmmm, I doubt it.

BTW, I'm not here to debate the issue with you, to my knowledge no one ever made their way to Jesus on a football message board for one. For another I have no desire to do so.

I merely request/suggest that you consider, just for a second, that many Christians have not been brainwashed as you seem to think.

Please give details. What actually happened?

I was watching Bill Maher earlier, hardly an 'alt right' commentator, who gave a stat that 18% of Indonesians believed in honour killings. 18% of the Worlds most populous Muslim country believe in killing rape victims. How many believe gays are 'abominations'? I bet it's not the fabled '1%' you claim are responsible for giving Islam a bad name.

Maher is a known extremist when it comes to Islam and Muslims. I will, however, suppose this numbers are true. This only reflect the cultural traditions of their tribes/communities.

But science is basically just saying 'In the beginning' when they talk about about the 'Big Bang'.

I am out and about today with only my mobile for company, but I will explain why its not an act of faith to believe in the big bang.

Where did the creator come from, and if it exists outside of time (and thus space) it cannot have any interaction within space and time? We know that all things that exist have origins and that they are affected by spacetime even in higher dimensions

If God exists, God is omnipotent so could exist outside of time and space and interact within space and time. If you are omnipotent, you can do what the hell you like.

?

How on earth is Maher an extremist?

As for you being a cultural relativist I have no idea how you can defend what you said. Hindu's cultural traditions use to be to throw widows onto the funeral fires of their husbands.

The big bad British stepped in and banned the practice.

I guess you'd prefer the screams just as long as it's maintaining some kind of cultural purity.

Hey lets just pass off the murder of rape victims as cultural traditions.

Perhaps you are the extremist.

That's accepting a religious narrative for a 'god'.

If a 'god' exists we have no idea upon what basis their existence rests.
