I only recognise two genders but from within that people are what they are. We all self define and others define us.

Sexuality, Gender biologically, Gender identity, personality etc are so complex, and impossible to easily define, that I think I know less with any certainty, than I did before. People are who they identify as, even if its something as absurd as a white girl identifying as a black man - because realistically, absolutely no one except that person can really have an idea of what is really going on under 'the hood'. I doubt that anyone who claims to be transgendered and lives openly is doing it for any other reason than it being 'their experience in the world' and I think that ultimately, we as a society have to get on with that and just accept that if I can be who I am, then you can be who you are, and steve can be Eve, if it makes steve happier. I used to think it was pretty easy, until I studied Psychology. Sexuality, Gender biologically, Gender identity, personality etc are so complex, and impossible to easily define, that I think I know less with any certainty, than I did before.

People are who they identify as, even if its something as absurd as a white girl identifying as a black man - because realistically, absolutely no one except that person can really have an idea of what is really going on under 'the hood'.

I doubt that anyone who claims to be transgendered and lives openly is doing it for any other reason than it being 'their experience in the world' and I think that ultimately, we as a society have to get on with that and just accept that if I can be who I am, then you can be who you are, and steve can be Eve, if it makes steve happier.
