If he hasn't scored a couple or assisted a couple by Xmas he won't.

I don't rate puncheon personally, but he wouldn't of been named captain if he was in de Boer original first 11.

If Frank is not happy with Jason's form he will drop him.
Same as Sam did to Scott to get Mamadou into our 11.

Of course... Although by October that could easily change.

I hope for the world that he gets back some old form and contributes more. I am not a disliker of him. But last season he was carried. Hoping for better days ahead for him.

RdB has chose him as captain imo due to what he has seen around the camp. Not what he has seen on the pitch imo He is undoubtedly respected and the rest look to him like they did jedi.. But if RdB sees the same puncheon who played last season in the first eight games. RdB will drop him.

Actually way before 8.

Please punch. Get your game back on son

Mathau do you mean Frank when you say RdB ?

So confusing nowadays when we need RWB,s and LWB's then there's 343 or 433. !!!!

shoot yeah, totally, FdB lol, sorry - haha.

If those get you confused the mention of a number 10 confuses me, to all nowadays its meant to be a David Silva role, a Teddy sheringham if you will, a striker or attacking midfielder that plays just off the main striker.

That was a number 8 jersey when I was a teenager back in the 90s, plus Ian Wright was our number 10, Lineker too at his clubs mostly, number 10 if anything was and in my mind still is!....the main out and out striker number.

pfffff

So.. we've had the Hennessey thread, the anti-Ward/Lee/Mutch/Dann/Delaney et al continuing comments.. now it's the 'dig out Puncheon' thread.

These fake 'Palace supporters' and their posts ain't fooling me.

BTW Don't be surprised to see a 4-1-5 at some stage of the season, with Benteke on the bench or injured.

Sorry eaglcoops.. Milner may not have real pace but his engine is one of the best in the premiership. Or least had bee for years. Hence why he made England international.

Puncheon is actually slower than him for one. His engine and going full spec late on ain't great either. Then there's being pulled onto his right foot all the time. considering he is really only a left footer too makes this all even more a worrying thread.

Then you've said townsend doesn't tackle as good. I disagree. Townsend actually puts his foot in like a defender would... He has that tenacity. Whereas puncheon defends exactly like a cam does.. Just shields and area so to not be drawn in. A rwb needs to be more physic deffo.

Puncheon could.. No... Would actually... Make quite likely the worst rwb in living history.

The guys gotta put his shooting boots on this season or sadly will be his last. Love the dude but you can't ignore his stats of late.

Look, I did not think when I wrote this that I thought Punch would make a good wing back or that it would necessarily work hence why I asked what people thought, but I did say that I couldn't get him into what I would consider the best side if he didn't adapt into a different player and that was the only available spot. My main point in all of this is that your captain should be your first name on the teamsheet and if he is going to be picked ahead of Luka or Cabaye then in my opinion he shouldn't be on the teamsheet at all.

Good grief.

Notwithstanding the formative experiences of SW16, Thornton Heath and Broad Green, there comes a time in life when one becomes an adult and ups sticks to wherever the work is - but obviously you haven't reached that point yet.

1) It's not who they say they are, it's what they write;
2) Forensic Linguistics;
3) You just did.
