Labour split on Brexit:

Come on Jezza, do what you have been vocalising for decades and commit to a clean Brexit. Yes, there will probably be a transition period but don't let the Bremoaners force you to compromise with a 'Norwegian' or 'Turkish' deal.

To be fair, both Labour and Tories are split on Brexit.

The EU/Poland constitutional crisis continues:

[Link]

This is a major issue. If Poland does what it says it is going to do, it simply cannot remain a voting member of the EU. Also, the EU is demonstrating, once again, its willingness to hold a gun to the head of those whom opposes its practices.

My guess is the EU will be as effective in curbing the distasteful nationalistic excesses of the (yeah right)" Law and Justice" Party as they have been with the similarly repulsive (and in that case WW2 fascist rehabilitating) regime in Hungary...

The EU ain't the bad guys in this sad and sorry scenario...and to see us trade a royal visit last week to give succour to a dodgy regime in presumed trade off for Brexit-related deal support made the stomach turn..

Perhaps Germany will occupy Poland to stem this rise of right wing anti-EU developments there - after negotiating a non-aggression pact with Putin first of course.

'Distasteful', 'repulsive'. It's a shame that the world doesn't vote the way you want it to, isn't it Rumpole?

Why don't you ask why? Why is the 'centre left' so undesirable to voters? Could it be because their policies have failed, their talispeople are discredited and parts of the world are in chaos through their 'not in my name' non-interventionist dogma?

'Why is the 'centre left' so undesirable to voters?'

I don't get that at all the centre ground is what politicians covet in order to get elected.

Whether its centre-left or centre-right socialist achievements of free education the welfare state the national health service remain in place as fundamental to society.

It's Nickbot time.

No doubt another 'unbiased' source.

Labour mentals should keep their own house in order.
Mind you, the PLP is doing a good job of keeping their 'deeply held beliefs' to themselves since they smelled the tiniest hint of power.
Did I hear someone say hypocritical scum?

Of course the Tories art split.....in the parliament they are full of remainers.

Nothing like the grass roots.

Labour at least now have a leadership that reflects its grass roots.....Except on this issue of course.

'Socialist achievements'? what utter tripe.

These things are consensual and don't belong to a movement at all.
