Arrests at Notting Hill were down on last year.

Don't worry about the coming together of many people of different cultures in a carnival celebration. Just focus on something that fits a different agenda.

Is this because the police were proactive and did raids before the carnival?

(the police were criticised for the raids.... let that sink in... they were criticised for arresting them lovable gang members)

I'm not entirely sure if you're serious... I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Take a look at Stafford Scott (@StaffordScott_):

I'll forgive your ignorance.

Bet he is one upstanding gentleman who stands up to the rioters telling them they are naughty boys, but there again i may be ignorant to the fact he is anti police and likes to jump on the bandwagon

ps had a quick look at the link and saw justice for Mark Duggan says it all really

He can add the marching season and Orange Order in Northern Ireland too to a future ban. Loads more police get injured in those shenanigans than at Notting Hill.

Quelle surprise, black rights campaigner has other black campaign groups as who to follow recommendation on Twitter.

You didn't get very far down the page before making a judgement.

Stafford isn't well respected at all. The estates that are terrorised by the Tottenham Mandem gang and later Star Gang... can't stand him.... he went on local radio and accused local residents or exaggerating the gang problem.

Nick, maybe you should live among the estates terrorised by this little s*** bags... residents aren't scared of the police. It really f***s me off when middle class white people tell people living on these sink estates that the gang problem isn't real.

Stafford Scott is a narcissist who uses s***ty situations for his own agenda.

He also described Mark Duggan as a good man.
He was a career criminal who fathered 6 kids (2 of which he didn't see).

Nick... you are too interested in being a lefty (which is no bad thing) to understand the problem. My ex witnessed the pre-carnival raids, she lives amongst the scum that terrorise the estates in North London... she works full time, pays her taxes... educated herself... she comes from the community she now despises.

You are serious...!
Why would the leader of the London Police Federation call for a festival in Somserset and a Orange Order march in Northern Ireland to be banned?

The NHC is mild compared to this weekends J'Ouvert festival being held in Brooklyn this Labor Day weekend.

How many people were involved in the violence on these marches? It's true any violence should be frowned upon, but put it in some perspective for your readers. Thirty people involved or hundreds. It's difficult to tell from the pictures in the mail.

You talk about the 'Daily Mail'.
I am sure you can engage in even more 'Gusseting' finding left-wing sites which will play down the violence and say it is all down to "Police brutality".

At the end of the day I know your agenda so your responses are to be expected.

Because he says, and I agree with him, that having 28 police officers injured going about their jobs is "unacceptable". Like it is when they get attacked at chucking out time every weekend or during July in Northern Ireland drum-beating time. So if a massive street party gets banned then, logically, with his thinking so should the others. It would be a point worth putting to him.

They changed it to daytime to curb the violence.
