If Niasse is the best striker we can conjure up, then 5 years of Premier League football is done for.

What a pathetic transfer, 5 games for Everton in 2016, and 17 for Hull a team that got relegated, and scored only 4 goals, Somehow i can't see that improving the squad, Pathetic

Well Fraiser Campbell scored as many goals for us in 58 appearances as Niasse scored in 19 for Hull. Campbell has so far appeared 4 times for Hull in the Championship and has scored 0 goals. So if goals per game is your criterion then you are talking out of your arse.

Granted, I don't know if Niasse would do all the other things that Campbell did for us. Closing out the away Liverpool game at the end of last season wit effectively ten men following the assault on Tomkins Campbell was excellent.

But still. With all due respect to Campbell Niasse is definitely an upgrade.

SSN says no deal yet - BBC was wrong. But Palace still want to bring 2 or 3 signings, SSN says.

Everton laughing at us with this one, most of them seem to be happy to let him go for free. I'd rather have Gayle back or have made a proper push for Defoe.

Defoe went to Bournemouth in the summer, and Gayle has now been deemed not good enough for the Premier league by a 6th manager.

Yeah I mean made more effort at the start for the window with Defoe. Gayle scored more than Niasse in the prem and both played over 2 seasons...

Not one Premier League manager is currently interested in Gayle. Again.

There is a reason for it.

And the price for Gayle is apparently £20m, which looks to be double or more what we're negotiating for Niasse.

Leicester fans laughed at us when we took Schlupp from them but nobody here seems to be complaining.

Sorry, I misunderstood that bit about Defoe

But Gayle made 64 appearances for us in the PL and scored 15, Niasse has made 22 and scored 4.

Granted thats not a great return, but Newcastle want £20m for Gayle, whereas we can get Niasse for £10m.

For a backup striker, he's ample

Bid accepted for Niasse, but if Cenk is also coming in from Turkey, who doubles as a wide man and a striker, the two together would definitely give us more fire power.

Schlupp's average player at best IMO and he's not in our regular first 11 so I guess they were right.

In terms of the striker situation I dont think we are in a position to take risks like this, if Benteke got injured god for bid then we could potentially be relying on unproven strikers.

Also agreed, Gayle asking price too much.
