It was FDB's only mistake yesterday in my opinion - picking Lee.
PVA left back with Schlupp in front of him would have been the better scenario.

Guys I hold my hands up.

I'd always thought he looked busy and half decent - hence I've defended him to the hills. I won't anymore. He's just not up to it. My bad. Not even the pass back. It's the lack of quality in the box.

I do think he's good in between the lines, darting in and around defenders. But we do need better. I can see that now.

Have to admit when we're wrong eh.

I say it every time he plays, but this time I mean it more than I ever have.

I never want to see him in a Palace shirt ever again. He is a complete and utter waste of a squad member. I've never known a player in football to live off of one goal than he has.

A supposed attacking player who can only pass the ball sideways or backwards. Should I see his or Puncheon's name on the team sheet on Saturday, I'll probably stay in the pub because I cannot bring myself to watch another 90 minutes of them ruining every attacking move we create. I've reached my limit.

Agree 100%. He must put on an absolute show in training because I have never been able to understand why he gets picked on a weekend. He really is terrible.

Potentially a player in League 1, but for the Premier League not a chance.

I actually think Dann's miss was worse given the stage in the game.

No it wasnt... Lee's resulted in a goal..all Danns effort wouldve done as cover for that...even ghough he should've scored it.

That seemed like the obvious choice to me, Schlupp is rapid and looks decent going forward.

I still can't work out what Lee was trying to do, he looked up twice before playing that ball. He's a professional footballer, surely he can kick the ball, every pass he played seemed to be underhit.

If he's in the team against Southampton then we will know for sure that FDB is stubborn. I've never been a fan, one of those players who looks busy but doesn't actually do anything.

I'd rather have the fringe players full of youth, there was no harm in starting a youngster, they certainly wouldn't have played that through ball.

Point is, Frank probably assessed the youngsters and thought perhaps they didn't look like they could cover the intensity required, whereas Lee possibly in training, looked to be able to do so.

Loftus apparently weren't quite there as same with Sakho, so that's why they didn't play.

As for Milo, our Serbian, he apparently played two international games recently and was quite likely, knackered.

So with all that in mind, aside from possibly PVA playing there, or at LB and Schlupp playing there, this was one of the only scenario's Frank had at his disposal.

Playing well and creating a few openings and a couple of good tackles is not enough for Franks vision, which I can see now, he's implementing a proper unit, its all of a sudden obvious to me, a real team with hardly any one play to carry us through, and that's how the best teams play. Yes Zaha will always be our talisman, but that's because he truly is a special player, but Frank is creating a system, and I hope you can see it after today, whereby hopefully in a few months, if one player gets injured, another can instantly sit in for him and know what he has to do.

Very much like watching Leicester for me, all working for one another and knowing fully well what eachs responsibly was. It was refreshing, absolutely refreshing to see.

We've got a couple of players that make me think that.

He can't play on the left. He had to check back and turn to get the ball on his right foot every time. He's a better player than he showed yesterday. Of course, Andros is left-footed on the right, but though he likes to cut inside on to his left foot, he can still use the right.

Luka's been poor this season, and PVA was rightly dropped too. Do you think Luka should have been kept in with Cabaye moving to the left?

With Zaha, RLC, Tompkins, and Sako all out, who should have come in on the left? Cabaye for Luka made sense, and we looked hugely better with him and McArthur. I can't wait to see RLC link up with those two, along with Zaha back, and Sahko in defense.

Players like Lee, Sako, Mutch, etc., are a huge part of the problem at the club. They eat up wages but are not good enough for this level. However, we have no choice but to include them in the squad and to use them as cover for injuries or bad form. That comes down to poor long term planning. SP has said as much, and to be fair to him, has largely not made the same mistakes. Unfortunately, these mistakes last several seasons.

Luka's been poor because he spent pre season at CB and then league matches rusty in a 2 man midfield v Burnley and then camped in his own 3rd v Liverpool and then the slow motion 1st half v Swansea.

People have suggested Lee not picked and punch left, Townsend right, Luka, Cabaye, Jimmy central.

Chungy's mistake was not Frank's fault but playing him on the left for 70 mins or whatever and Townsend on the right was, as it was having ward on the left in the 2nd half v Swansea.

Sadly only saw the last forty minutes. lee does fit into the team basis and as time goes by will give way to young players coming through. His skill is keeping the ball and passing it to another Palace player freed of opposition attention. Most of those passes will be gentle rather than over hit. This care not to over hit meant that the ball did not go to Hennessy. It can be said that we did not have a full strength team, but who knows we will win matches using rotation so that young players get game time. Benteke needs to attract opposition players to him - perhaps over to the left - leaving their goalmouths more empty. We suffered from parked bus. Those last forty minutes were encouraging.

I expect an effigy of Chungy to be hanging outside a pub in Selhurst or south Norwood, next to Martin Kelly.
