He rejected a new deal at the club and is a free agent at the end of the season. In Jan can agree a move to any foreign club.

It's clear RH admires him - he picked him for England - but he's over- rated IMO. Didn't set guns blazing for Bournemouth last season (when fit).

Like Macarthy in the past, I believe both are club icons and leaders off the pitch and thus - at their relatively moderate salaries - were worth keeping on.

That and the fact that we could not afford replacements.

We cannot fukc about like SP always does, we should be talking to agents now and agreeing any new players contracts prior to Xmas.
