Goals change matches and that's because they change the mentality of both teams. We have missed too many, shall we say comfortable chances to score from many different players. All of these could have had a major impact on the team and the game in our favour, but we are continually mentally weak in front of goal. Add the fact that we cannot hit accurate long shots or Free kicks and we are royally screwed. Lack of scoring means Wayne and the defence is always jittery as we know one slip and it's basically the game. Once the goal goes in heads drop and a team with no confidence really can't do anything right.
What I'd give to score a worldy totally against the run of play and put the pressure on the opponents.
The Chelsea game is the only thing giving me any confidence that this situation is retrievable. In it we showed how well we can play and it was no fluke. Think the starting 11 are gonna have to be prepared to play a lot of minutes between now and January.

Verbal abuse!? It’s a message board. What the hell is wrong with folk today. The whole world has gone soft. How old are you out of interest?
I’m not abusing Wayne, his family or his personal life. I’m just calling him out for being s***e at a job he gets paid more in a month than most of us get paid in a year. And as a professional sportsman he’s chosen to open himself up to judgement by the people who pay his wages.
And these people aren’t my cohorts. They’ve all come to share the same opinion of a player individually. That should tell you enough. Drop this abuse nonsense. I’ve done nothing wrong for the mods to card me, bar have a strong opinion about a player which is an opinion shared by thousands of other Palace and football fans in general.

Let me put a different spin on the WH saga. Could it be, given his good Welsh International form, that he is a type of player that needs 'managing'? And if that is the case, then what kind of environment has he been subjected to, given the amount of different managers and systems over his tenure here at CPFC? People are different. Some players a highly individualistic while others need strong leadership and guidance. Is WH one of those types? I don't know - maybe he can't get any better. But look at Puncheon, and all the expensive new players poor performances of late. The atmosphere is toxic at Palace in my humble opinion. Players join 'clubs'. It's like some kid seeing a different dad every weekend! No wonder their confidence and performance drops at school!

WH did refuse to play for Wolves just before we signed him.

I don't personally rate WH, but could just be a bad fit where club and player don't gel. He's also a bit "soft" for a goalkeeper at the top level I think.

He should on paper be much better than he is. And I think given some of the soft goals where he hasn't gone in fully committed haven't endeared him:

JS has earned his goodwill, WH hasn't. Partly possibly unfairly but partly as he's made his own bed.
