Right a little bit of prospective last season Wilf had good games but the team pulled us out of the sh*t not just one player,
seems like his greatness is based on 2 games chelsea & west spam in both games Townsend worked well with Wilf to give defenders a hard time, if by the end of the season Wilf has hit 15 goals no reason why he cant do that,we can then look at him being up there he is still work in progress
For those who remember Vince Hilaire when he was good he was brilliant the crowd the manger all shouted at the team to give him the ball but when he was bad he was awful
Wilf is not so hit and miss as vince but still think he is behind taylor rogers budgie and sally who all played in the same position

I think Zaha is slowly getting our best ever.
I haven't seen some of the old ones, so I cannot give a sentence, but I think he's getting there already.
Allow me to say this, I might become not popular, but this is what I think. I have seen Attilio Lombardo was voted in our best 11 ever. Now, I have seen him play for years here in Italy, with Samp, Juve etc... I'm not saying he was bad, he was in the National Team too, but honestly, he was a solid player, but Zaha is hands, feet, head, and whatever you want over him... It's a world apart.
That's what makes me think he must be very close to our best ever.

Not sure how much you watched of Lombardo whilst at Palace however nobody would of described him as just a 'solid player'. The guy was mustard my friend.

I'll repeat your words not because I am a parrot, but because you answer your own questions within your comments.
Your right dougie was, "at those times", very good. As a palace player, he's a legend. For the goals he scored, and times he scored them. He was a great striker for us.
Zaha however is a different class. I'm sure dougie would agree. You should ask him, not me.

I agree with this Dougie was very good for us but mostly in the championship. Zaha is doing in the Prem and as Steve Parish keeps ramming down our throats the longest stint in the Prem.

That alone should equate to this is our best team ever (i know that very subjective). Wilf is the best player in that team. Work the rest out.

Wrighty was fantastic but was better at Arsenal and what he went on to do probably clouds some judgement.

We've had some great players. Wilf is the best i've seen in a palace shirt.

Yerr, that's a hard one, Wilf is probably better at beating his opponent, and i think has more pace, but not sure, but Salako could put in great crosses with either foot. still can't decide.

Hold on Salako isn't even in Wilf's league. I'm happy for people to have opinions but when they are so wrong it has to be pulled up.
Honestly it is like comparing Carlo Nash to Nigel Martyn. Just wrong

Speaking of wrong...Salako - the outstanding player of Englands Tour of '91....Salako...an ever present in the team that came third in Div 1...Salako...arguably MotM v Liverpool (in 1990 probably would have been one of the top three teams in Europe had they been allowed to compete) Salako...best wing back I have seen in a Palace shirt. Best crosser, best defensive work.

Wilf has more flair and is more exciting - John had more technique and consistency.

Wilf, Andros, Mamadou and....?

The rest are trailing that trio surely?

Cabaye, Luka, Benteke (the latter when played properly)

Zaha reminds me of Coppell in his playing days for Manyoo.

Absolute joy to watch. And he's ours,...for the moment

I agree, I saw someone say that Lombardo was out most technically gifted player. Lombardo as good as he was could have only dreamed of doing some of the things that Wilf Can do with the ball.
