I agree and I stated that his return was not anticipated for at least another two months.

I had read this as things had got worse this week and he had a further two months set-back to his return date.

If he ever gets well again I expect great things from Connor. Sadly I predicted he would be a sick note and was roundly vilified for saying so when first he was signed. I had been told he was by some Mackems.

I still think there is a chance he will recover, ACL treatments are far better than they used to be.

I like Wickham but he's another Sturridge, can't rely on his body to hold up. Makes it all the more ridiculous that we didn't sign another striker as not only do we have nobody to replace Benteke when injured, he has no competition to motivate him.

Probably because your prediction had nothing behind it , he wasn’t a sick note for Sunderland , 40 appearances in his last season , 34 the season before that , and 23 the season before that ( he also spent Time out on loan) he/we have just been very unlucky.

hope he does recover but will always have place in Palace history for his header against Watford. The palace fans almost had to suck the ball into the net as it went so slowly

I agree with this. One of the best headed goals by a Palace player in my time as a supporter. It was beautiful. The slow speed merely served to emphasise what a perfect header it was.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

That's what people said at the time. Yet I had been told in advance he was a problem, I repeated what I had been told and - entirely coincidentally - he started having problems shortly thereafter. It wasn't the ACL at first of course.

I'm something of an authority on old boilers myself, but enough about my chequered sexual history.
