Never really understood the fascination with Wickham (other than his bird),

Average player who scores in little spates but is unlikely to get 10 goals a season

I hope he proves me wrong but seriously doubt it. For me, he is marginally better than Fraser Campbell but there is not a lot in it.

The failure to sign a 2nd striker is very odd.

Yeh, he doesn't really want to come back. If he did he would try harder to get better wouldn't he.

I suppose you blame disabled people for not trying hard enough to recover too. 'Your're blind? Well REALLY squint up your eyes and try harder to see.'

It is what it is, if he isn't recovering then I am sure it's not for the want of trying. Footballers tend to enjoy their jobs and hate being away from playing.

you will find sometimes in case of disabled people it is true they could of tried harder or done something to help but disabled covers a very broad range and it's case by case (this has nothing to do with Connor at all)

the guy is happy to sit out even former staff have said he is not really interested in football and doesn't put it effort.

Because some one is doing a job doesn't mean they love it or put in effort you will find footballers do it for £££ if you take that away they wouldn't be playing football

When is his contract due to expire?

Six months before that he will all of a sudden be fit as a fiddle and playing for a new contract.

Palace hero for one Wembley goal, the winner v Watford in the cup semi-final, 2016.
Parallels with Kevin Phillips, Palace hero for penalty winner v Watford in Wembley playoff final, 2013.
I would list them in this order:
1 Phillips v Watford
2 Wickham v Watford

The right place at the right time

Summer of 2020.
His injury is similar to Bolasie’s at Everton.
Both have been out for a year.
Both injuries are known to take over a year to recover.

Palace 13th 2017/18.

There was talk he'd had a set back. Anybody ever see that reported? The `official' return is still next month, right?

Poor sod, and Bolasie. Doubt either player will be restored to their former levels. Professional sport can be very cruel. Serious ligament injuries are often due to a fault in the players body. Some of us have weaker ligaments than others.
Serious injuries like these for forwards tend to take half a yard off their pace. I sight Shearer Owen and Coppell as classic examples.
Personally, I will be very surprised if CW ever plays in the premier again, and he might be lucky to play pro football again.
Must be soooo frustrating for him.
Best wishes to him and Bolasie and I hope for their sakes I am totally wrong.
Good luck to them.

Suggested recently that he will not return for 2 months, not one,and with this type of injury, doubtful he will feature for us this season.

Which makes the failure to land a striker even more criminal.
