Where have I indicated that I am not in favour of VAR ? I am looking forward to seeing it in action and will have further thoughts based on it's operation. At the end of the day it's not a panacea - It is based on subjective decisions and the referees interpretations.

I personally think the majority of our officials are too arrogant to admit any mistakes, could learn a lot from Rugby but I am afraid they wont

You can't conduct a test in a competition where you are effectively asking just 2 teams to operate to a different set of rules to everyone else. You either have VAR in every game of that round, or none of them. And they've still chosen a high profile game, featuring two PL teams, particularly due to the piss poor way the last league tie was handled. All gamers are played under different circumstances.

Maybe they will use VAR outside the ground as well to assist Sussex Police before kick off to organise their pre-match tactics.

Its time to wheel all of the really good refs out of retirement as fourth officials. They won't need to run round a pitch any more however their experience would be invaluable in that seated role. (Note that I said really good refs like Collina, so I don't include Clattenburg in that list).

Nothing is 100% but since we've had goal line technology the fairness has improved massively. The more technology the better IMO.

The parameters for VAR have been laid down eg Whether a goal should stand,penalty decisions, red cards etc etc, so they don't cover each and every incident and scenario. At the end of the day it will be down to interpretations of referees and subjective decisions but I look forward to seeing how it works.
