When the US went to war with the Taliban, the fact that we were now at war was used as a universal cudgel to tamp down dissenting voices for, not only the subsequent war in Iraq but for all manner of domestic and foreign agendas. It even extended to the point that the Dixie Chicks were made pariahs for criticizing Bush when performing in London (UK). [Link]

He wants a war with someone, anyone. Because the first casualty in war is truth.

Not to mention the complete and unchallenged control you can hold over populations through fear.

Divide and rule. Fear and conquer. Really isn't rocket science.

I don't understand why people are so surprised and hysterical over this.

Trump is actually doing something that's very rare nowadays in politics – he's upholding a campaign promise!

Bill Clinton, George Bush and Barack Obama ("Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided") all campaigned to move the embassy but backtracked when they got into office.

Congress gave the green light for the relocation in 1995 but successive presidents have signed a waiver on it.

Trump is rightly recognising Israel as an ally against the war on terror and Jeruslaem as the birthplace of Christianity.

The relocation of the embassy will not affect the pace deal no matter what terrorists Hamas say.

Even as recently as JUNE of this year, the Senate voted 90-0 to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem. At the time Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (of the DEMOCRATS) criticised Trump for reneging on his campaign pledge. Now he is doing it.

The Palestinians are continually rioting, it's the fourth time they have declared a day of rage in last eight months. This is nothing new.

In July, they rioted over metal detectors being installed at the holy Temple Mount. They were put there after three Palestinian terrorists killed two Israeli cops.

Trump's embassy decision is the latest excuse for them to riot and the anti-Israel media will legitimise this.

Britain is outraged! But the countries in the region, the likes of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt don't care about the Jerusalem issue.

There is a reason why no one has an embassy in Jerusalem (well two actually). One, no one wants to add fuel to an already precarious political situation by legitimising any sides claim over the city (Christian, Jewish or Muslim).

Secondly, its a bit of a 's**t hole' in the middle of nowhere, as all the Israeli government facilities are based in Tel Aviv.

Actually, a third one, it would create problems for the US and UK's allies in the middle east, by fermenting another generation of infatada's, this time likely to be very much Islamist in cause.

There is a distinct problem that there are still in excess of half a million plus displaced Palestinans throughout the middle east.

It potentially is a return to the 80s in terms of the Israel-Palestinian problem.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said she disagreed with the US decision, which was "unhelpful in terms of prospects for peace in the region" How is that being outraged?

Saudi Arabia's King Salman told Mr Trump by telephone on Tuesday that the relocation of the embassy or recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital "would constitute a flagrant provocation of Muslims, all over the world".

On Thursday, a Saudi royal court statement called Mr Trump's decision "unjustified and irresponsible".

"The US move represents a significant decline in efforts to push a peace process and is a violation of the historically neutral American position on Jerusalem."

Those views were echoed by Egypt's President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, who warned against "complicating the situation in the region by introducing measures that would undermine chances for peace in the Middle East".

Meanwhile, Jordan's King Abdullah called for joint efforts to "deal with the ramifications of this decision" and a Jordanian government spokesman said Mr Trump was violating international law and the UN charter.

Seems like they "care" more than we're "outraged".

Schumer is also 100% pro-Israeli government. He is also a darling of AIPAC. HE has lobbied for the release of Jonathan Pollard to return to Israel. As someone who was material to the Pollard espionage case, let's just say that I have many disagreements with the senior senator from my state when it comes to Israel, including his support of settlements.

They may "say" that to placate the Muslim world but the reality is they see Israel as allies in order to team up together against the threat of Iran...
