Worth a listen, just to get her side of things. The Grenfell stuff is definitely from the heart.

As an aside, it's shocking, due to this age of 5 second attention spans, how people cared so much about grenfell and now it's old news to the point that its almost like it's a fictional tale.

80% still homeless. Still Lily Allen pointed it out so let's rip her to shreds and create a hate figure. Meanwhile the message about Grenfell is lost so people do forget.

Has she put her hand in her pocket yet? Guessing not if she's upset about her tax bill.

Everyone has good intentions. Some just additionally benefit from banging on about it and it augments the ounce of genuine sentiment. I've got funds to allocate to charity as part of my stake in a company and may just post about in on Facebook.

I'm afraid she just fits the bill of people of her privilege too well. I know she's not a journo but you don't see such people taking a constructive stance and getting to the bottom of things to make a difference do you? The PR stunt is the easy bit.

But how many have refused the accommodation they have been offered?

A bit like the celebs who plead for your money to help the starving in Africa(nothing wrong with helping these people) but they get paid an extortinate amount plus expenses for making the pleas...should they not donate this money?

I can't believe that this is true. Expenses yes but I don't think they would be paid. I don't know this, just guessing.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I think some of them may have done this in the past. Terry "I never asked to be paid but took it anyway" Wogan springs to mind. I think today they are more clued up so it is payment in kind. Expenses and trebles all around. I think a certain Mr Beckham raised a few eyebrows recently with his "requirements".

It's a pity because most celebrities probably don't abuse it but as usual a few bad apples ruin it for everybody else.

Anyway back to Lily Allen she incurred my ire because of her irresponsible tweets in the immediate aftermath of the Grenfall fire. Sympathy yes, demands for justice yes. However she made claims of police cover ups, conspiracy etc with zero evidence. The locals were understandably upset and this did not help.

So i wish her and the other celebs who waded in would just let the judge get on with it. When we have his report if they are not satisfied that is the time to talk about injustice.

From the Times

• A prominent activists’ group set up after the fire is continuing to inflate the death toll;

• A volunteer network for victims is being run by a conspiracy theorist who claims that Grenfell victims were “burnt alive in a Jewish sacrifice”;

• A woman who repeatedly accused the local Conservative council leader of having blood on her hands is a longstanding national officer for a militant union and a colleague of John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor;

• The Kremlin-backed television channel RT is misleading its viewers in an attempt to use the disaster to foment “class war” in Britain.

Ultimately she's an idiot for jumping on the bandwagon with sensational claims. I don't know whether her idea was to raise eyebrows, to side with the slightly irrational element or whether she genuinely believes it. At least someone like Russell Brand would delve a bit deeper, but he's arguably more intelligent and talented, and not just a washed up singer trying to grab headlines.

what did RT say? I do love a bit of RT it like every news comedy with extra irony.

Oh dear Lily Allen has been dropped by her record company because the public has lost interest in her music.

I guess it's not enough to virtue signal to the masses you also need talent.
