And to think weekend engineering works was one of the reasons the Weed insisted in a Monday night game!

Good old unions eh
Originally they did a great job protecting employees as bosses took the piss and worked unsafely.
Nowadays they call out workers over non urgent or non dangerous situations.
Mainly dough and keeping themselves in a job!!!
Why not just ban overtime working unilaterally.
That would have an effect in the bosses pocket as agency staff are dearer.
Why punish normal people going about they're business.
Disgraceful

I know, Southern have acted despicably throughout the dispute. They don't give a s*** about passengers anyway, the contract gets paid regardless of whether trains run.

Could have picked a better day though.

Rmt is a guards union as most drivers tend to be in Aslef.
This will make very little difference to those travelling to the game as they will still run at least a weekend service as they tend to get management out working trains to lessen the impact of the industrial action. Whilst it may be disrupted there should still be fairly regulated services running!

Not sure it was the weed or Sussex Police force used the engineering works as an excuse however the engineering works only reduced the number of trains an hour by one from 6 to 5!

If you ban overtime there would be even fewer trains running as Southern need their drivers to work their rest days.
You can't use agency staff to drive trains, each driver needs to be trained in all aspects of the railway rules & regulations, traction and route knowledge (this can take 12-18 months).
Trains will still run as it's only RMT striking & not Aslef.

Several solutions come to mind.

1. Palace away travel lay on more coaches for supporters.

2. Beam the game back to Selhurst Park.

3. Move the game back to Sunday lunchtime with BT retaining the rights due to "extraordinary circumstances."

I thought I read somewhere it was the club but in any case, CPFC offered to lay on coaches for a lunchtime game. BHA and the Sussex Police just continue to show they are either out of their depth in planning these fixtures, or of course it could be a Barber conspiracy against us!

I like Option 3 as it would also show the RMT up further on a national level for the grief they have caused for so many over such a long period now

They did for the Sunday. Now it's the Monday night which is more of a safety risk imo we have to pay. Stumped up £17 for my seat. Don't want to go through a repeat of last time. Personally I think the club should pay it

When I was a young girl my Mother said to me.. You listen here kid you're CPFC
