He plays for Fiorentina - 9th in Serie A

Decent price (these days) for a quality striker. Go for it Palace, don’t hang about!

No, man. Sorry, but it's not. Prices are given by how much longer a player has a contract.

Babacar is 1 year away from signing on a free. They're asking 15 million like he's Alexis Sanchez. It's an incredibly large amount. What if he had 4 years left on his contract?
Would he have been a 50 million striker? No

One consideration only. The other, and far more relevant in the January window is how desperate the buying club is - at that point it’s what they’re prepared to pay.

I’m not sure how you get the Sanchez situation as a comparison as he only has 6 months on his contract, is demanding £300k+ per week & there is no fee involved (according to his agent) but a straight swap with a player valued circa £30m/€35m (plus agent’s fee).

Is Babacar worth £15m to Palace? If he could score a goal every two games then I’d suggest he’s worth considerably more.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Not sure about this guy. Age 24 and still hasn't nailed down a starting eleven place. Who's scouting him? Why take so lomg to buy? A 15million Bruce Dyer in the making.
Dembele is the man IMO.

Additionally Sanchez is reputed to want a £20m signing on fee and his agent wants £5m too so as you said - it's not a fair comparison

He's got 18 months left on his contract, which is still a pretty long time.

Prices for players don't really come down until they are in the last year of their deal. It's not a gradual drop over the course of their contract. That maybe how clubs look at their players on their own books (taking into account fee + wages), but if you've got a player with four years left or three year left on a deal, you're going to be asking the same price for him.

If you look at the Alexis Sanchez example, City were happy to pay £60m for him in the summer, it's only now that fee is dropping so far.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Groundhog Day. We all know really we will never sign him. So Dougies in place and as per Parish have the best environment for transfers club has ever had. Looking forward to hearing the excuses this time come February 1st.

Why would he choose Everton though as they have already bought two strikers so it's likely that he will exchange one bench for another
