To coach the keepers.
All the coaching in the world will not make Wayne as good as Schmeichel if it could Wayne would not be playing for us.
As said previously he is a decent premiership keeper that is why we are finding hard to replace him with anyone better for what we can pay and would want to play for us.
Last week people thought the coaching is starting to make him look better, now we lose to Arsenal and its his fault.

Crazy.

So, on that basis Hennessey has been Hodgsoned as he has generally been a lot better under Roy.
Yesterday, only could really be held to account for the 4th goal, but by that time the whole defence were shell shocked by Arsenal.

Well I think he has. I don't think Hennessey was actually particularly pardewed, but what Hodgson has done has been to bring in a new goalkeeping coach, rotate the keepers more so that Hennessey gets a rest and Hodgson can make a choice about horses for courses rather than always picking the "best" keeper, and organise the defence in front of him properly. (Some keepers are good at organising defenders and some such as Hennessey aren't; it isn't important that the keeper organise the defence, but it is important that *someone* competent organise the defence, and in the absence of Sakho that has been harder, as we saw yesterday).

Hodgson has made a lot of decisions about players that don't kow tow to received wisdom. Drop Puncheon, play Riedewald in midfield (where de Boer brought him in as a defender), give Zaha some freedom, use Sako and play to his strengths.

Next steps might be to let Milivojevic have the dead ball, make Benteke move about a bit and invent a miracle cure for cruciate ligament injuries.

Funnily enough it now seems to be coming out that Silva had lost the dressing room and had been pardewing everyone, they've had to push Richarlison out there to try and deny it.

Yesterday the whole team were at fault - slow out the blocks, ball watching. All I'm saying is that WH needs to command his own area better, that's why there are doubts about him. Can it be coached into him? He's a great shot stopper, but doesn't convince under the high ball.

I agree the team were very poor as a unit yesterday, and maybe just blaming Hennessey was a tad harsh.

However, I still believe he needs to be replaced and this should be one of our main priorities before the end of the window. For every good game he tends to have at least 2-3 poor ones. You can get away with it in the Championship (his level) but we do not want to be there, we are a Premier league club!

Just my point of view, and would be boring if everyone had the same view...

He was excellent against Burnley in the air when the aerial threat of Vokes and Barnes was present. He had no chance with any of the crosses yesterday.

No he doesn't. In his previous 3 PL games he'd let in just 1 goal. Unfortunately Arsenal chose yesterday to produce one of their great displays. If you want to blame anyone then blame McArthur and Zaha who both lost Monreal for 3 of the goals.

Why do so many people feel this way about Wayne CPJ? A genuine question. It’s a reoccurring view, I’m actually fascinated as to how two people can see such different things when watching Wayne play.

Why do you ask the question when you have been told many times and choose to ignore or not understand what has been said.

Don't be such a WUM.

Just looked it up. I swear I’m not being a wind up. I genuinely am fascinated how people are seeing such different things. I’ve never witnessed such polarisation over a Palace player.

I don't believe they do. It only seems to be a recurring view of you, Rachid and one or two others. But you started this vendetta before he'd even played a game for us, so you're never going to change your mind. Most fans realise that whilst WH is by far from the best keeper in the PL, he is the better option from the two we have and until we can afford to buy someone better then we should support him. What I cannot understand is how you were supposedly satisfied with him last week, then come on here after a heavy defeat and start your rant all over again? Yes, he should have stopped the 4th goal, but the other three were down to McArthur who twice lost Monreal, and Zaha who seemed to doze off for the second.
