Still a great time to buy so don't waste this opportunity.
There will be huge moves this year starting in Spring.

Buy Litecoin.

Not a good month tbf, par for the course, but still well up on 2017.
This is a long-term investment that will ultimately pay huge dividends.
Blockchain technology is the future.

At first I think this is like financial markets when the general public buy the market after it's become public knowledge via the media but, this is obviously a bit different so, are there more entrants to the market after this downtrend? And is this annual profit taking that's just too easy for those who've been involved for years?

I’ve just recently started investing myself (shares & tracker funds), so I’d be interested in what else you think is a good bet & why, if you’d like to share. Although I understand if you’d rather not.

Yeah, many have 'got in' recently due to the increasing media coverage but despite the recent drop in value, Crypto-Exchanges have witnessed continual (massive) growth in new accounts being registered.
Profit-taking seems to be (relatively) easy for those who study charts/trading patterns/news* etc but personally, other than trading some cryptos for others, i hold whatever i buy. This is a long-term investment.

*The usual govt threats to shut down exchanges, ie to manipulate the market.

Personally i wouldn't touch them but good luck all the same. I hold:

Bitcoin(BTC).........Purely because it was the first to get my attention.
Litecoin(LTC)........Much faster and cheaper than Bitcoin and constantly linked with the global giants such as Amazon, Facebook as well as many others.
Adex(ADX)............Online advertising.
Populous(PPT)........Invoice factoring (and potentially passive stream income).
Omisego(OMG).........Gaining traction in Asia and with the MAJORITY of the human population located in Asia you can see the potential here.
Veritaseum(VERI).....Should (in theory) be a monster!

(They all have their own websites if you need/want more information).

I'm currently looking to add a few more.

Ripple did well over the festive period where as Bitcoin had a big dip due to the big boys having some cream off the top of their piles. Had my BTC investment out just before Christmas. Ready to go back in again about now.

The bankster coin so i steer clear tbh.
Litecoin, as a percentage gain, will far exceed Bitcoin this year. Well worth thinking about bud.

When investing TUX do you go for potential growth or dividend income seeing as you tend to go for long term?

Purely long-term growth.
Any cryptos offering any kind of passive income in the future (Populous* (PPT) being an example) is just a bonus.
