With zaha potentially out for a while, which is typical and gutting, could this be a chance for someone like lumeka to break into the squad. Confident, high scoring youth player. We've sent kaikai on loan which is a shame.

I'm beginning to wonder if we don't give one of the promising youngsters a run out in the middle of this injury crisis whether it's worth while wasting all that money on the academy and just disbanding it.

For all of his perceived faults Frank at least gave some of the youngsters a run out and I don't think any of them let him down

Agreed, we haven't bloodied a youngster all season in Roy's reign. If nothing else, they are super fit, will be desperate to play and even if it is for only half a game I think we will get some benefit from playing them.

If Roy considered any of them good enough, it'd be perverse indeed if he didn't play them. He seems a very astute man and the conclusion must be that he will only do so out of necessity (as with the keeper). I'm more concerned that two of the January signings can't even make the bench.

This guy came on against Burnley under frank de boer and was a real handful nearly scoring on a couple of occasions. This guy is ready.

I saw him pre-season and he looked decent. He even took the free kicks & corners which of late, with Cabaye taking the responsibilty, have been pretty poor and produced next to nothing in terms of chances. He should at least make the bench when we have 9 injuries.

Why then do you suppose that the current manager, so far, disagrees? We'll soon find out if Roy's changed his mind.

If they were good enough, they'd have ben around the 1st team already this season. Hodgson must be fuming at the transfer window. Will walk in the summer, i'm certain of it.

Lokilo also looked very good in pre season. Surely these youngsters should be considered along side players like lee?

Apologies - I was thinking of Lokilo

The championship is better for bleeding youngsters through.

He can walk whenever he likes, why the summer?
