As far as hitting the target in live play he is. Beat the Chelsea goalie twice on Saturday only being thwarted by the post and a w***er of a ref. He’s produced saves from headers in his other appearneces instead of putting them wide or over. We need a goal scoring hero at the moment and he’s showing much stronger signs of being that than Benteke is presently. Would you not agree with that?

No I don't agree...

Yes the goal should have stood however the miss prior to this where he hit the post was inexcusable. He had the whole goal to aim at and he panicked and smashed it as hard as he could. No composure what so ever, the whole far post was open to aim for...

From what I have seen of him live and in videos he does lack composure and finesse in his finishing. Hes a put your laces through it type.

Something that intrigues me is that Sorloth is completely expressionless. Most players give a clue to their emotions, eg when they miss a sitter. But our new man seems totally unengaged. Must be something to do with the Nordic temperament, but a bit of passion wouldn't come amiss. Assuming the happy day comes (the sooner the better), I wonder if/how he'll celebrate scoring a goal.

good post, I agree , its prob a scandanavian thing or perhaps hes a bit serious. Be good to see him score.

I’m having a go at this in memeory but for what I can remember his options were narrowed down to the near post. I’m happy to be corrected and would like to see it again to clarify.

So is Connor Wickham. IMO We haven't done enough of this this season.

Unfortunately at the moment neither player looks to have a goal in them and Palace will have to get goals to win the requisite matches to stay up.
It will help significantly to have Zaha available.
I’d probably go for Benteke at the moment as he has got a track record of goals in the premier league but he has been shocking this season.
His hold up play and effort looked poor in the first half but I don’t think playing him and Sørloth together helped as Chelsea were so dominant that they both had minimal involvement and this led to more pressure on the defence in the first half.
It looked like 11 v 9.

Were you not at the Chelsea game??
Sorloth netted once to be disallowed then hit the post.
Benteke was the fellah in the first half kept jumping up and down off the ball like a jack in the box.

Benteke is finished drop him on the bench. Its got to be Wilf and Sorloth upfront for all of the remaining matches.
Benteke has done nothing form wise, and he will do nothing to contribute any goals to move us safely away from the religation zone.
The team are giving 100% in every match. and they creating chances for him to score but he's not done it from the start of the season till the very end. sell the man on so he can go and mug some other team off.All he does is hold his hand out and I feel sorry for the chairman having to fork out £120.000 a week for doing what exactly just 2 goals it stinks to high heaven.

fair points and those things gave me a lot of hope on Saturday.

however, it's just too early for me to say whether Sorloth will score regularly at this level or not. He hasn't in 4 full games (3 admittedly against top class opposition where we get relatively few chances), but he's shown signs he might be able to.

if he does then yeah he's The Man.

thing is that to me he looks a bit ponderous in his general play. he also seems slightly weak for his size. that might be a lack of familiarity with his team mates and coming in when he hadn't played for a while.

I find it a bit too early to judge. there's promise & hope there, but like most youngish players, some major rough edges.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Overlooking Benteke being denied by a world class save from De Gea? Or having efforts cleared off the line against Newcastle?

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Sorloth's first three games have been against better quality teams than us and so it is not fair to criticise him as his is a huge step up from the Danish League.

Playing him and Benteke as two centre forwards is never going to succeed and must be scrapped.

Sorloth deserves persevering with as he does try to lay the ball off whereas Benteke's only useful contribution has been in defence.

We are weak in midfield and so must rely on Zaha and Townsend to start providing the ammunition until RLC and Cabaye are back. Until they are fit I would give Lee a go as a skilful feed for the forwards. His disastrous game at Burnley was unfortunate but he should be given the chance to make amends.
