get someone in now to work alongside RH next season so we don't have to scramble around a week before the 2019/20 season starts looking for a manager

We don't know for certain what division we will be playing in next season.
We also don't know if Hodgson will stay if we are relegated.
We really don't know when the club will have to make a decision about a new manager and the division we will be playing in when that time comes.
Too many unknows at the present to form any sort of judgement regards a successor.

David Ho-kins would be a good choice for the champioship if we went down. Premier league we would want someone stronger.

But keep Roy on board is the best idea if he wants to stay.

Hopkins did lead Livingston to the 'League One' title last season when they finished 19 pts ahead of Alloa.

This season in the 'Championship' they are 2nd but 11 pts behind the leaders St Mirren.

I saw Keith Curle on MOTD2 and was very impressed with his attitude towards management. I know he has been a manager much lower in the football pyramid but he seemed to fit in with Roy's methods of management. If Roy does stay (and I think he will) should his role not move more into a director of football role with a Head Coach running the team in a more hands on way. This would also provide the much needed football head between SP and the team (Freedman is not that man)

I think Jokanovic from Fulham would be a great choice

He impressed me too subtle but determined and he was never a big time Charlie.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

We’re talking about replacing a learned master of the beautiful game with lower league managers here. It will take someone quite special to take over the reigns form our Roy.

If we stay up and Roy decided to retire then I could see Parish moving for Dyche, as I can't see him taking a risk on another foreign manager and he is about the only young, British manager with PL experience that might consider coming to us. I think he would fail, but that doesn't change my opinion of what I think Parish might do.

Personally I don't have the foggiest. It seems pretty much every manager ends up being disliked by their own fans in the end, it is just a matter of how long that takes, so let's not worry too much For now I'm going to continue my love for Papa Hodgson x

If Roy retires at the end of the season having signed a two year contract I really don't believe that Dyche would entertain the idea of coming here.

Completely agree. Hodgson made it clear he had no faith in Benteke and Striker position was his main target. Parish disagreed and said Goalkeeper was more important. In the end Parish both failed at giving Hodgson what he wanted and his GK signing failed to get through until the Summer anyway.

Hopefully some more responsiblity is delegated around different people and the Manager get's a bit more say in the future. Firstly we need to prove to Hodgson we will back him and his vision, then you can start targeting the more ambitious Manager's like Dyche.

If we lose Hodgson even though this is his last job, a year before his contract ends along with Pulis and Allardyce, no one decent will touch us. Have to beg Pardew to come back.

I think having been overlooked for FDB there is no chance
