Why do we still not know the circumstances surrounding the death of Kevin Crehan in prison?

This guy died in late 2016 for crying out loud.

He did do an offensive act that required consequence (attaching bacon to Mosque doors, leaving bacon sandwiches there and graffiti). However, this was an offence more suitable to community service and a fine than prison.

But in a culture that convicts comedians for bad taste jokes this is the type of politically correct activist morons we currently have running the show.

This guy is dead and unless it's natural causes the so called justice system has some responsibility for that.

More background on why he was jailed rather than community service or fine:

Crehan was given a jail sentence after a judge said he took into account his past history of convictions for football-related violence.

It's why Tommy Robinson literally only ate tinned sardines when he was inside.

Granted, but it still reads like community service to me. No one was hurt, only feelings.

Was sentenced to 7 months in prison in 2010 for breaching a banning order and having a sawn off pool cue hidden down his trousers. Also previously guilty of theft.

Multiple prior convictions including assaulting a Police Officer.

Annoying how people get picked on simply for not being PC innit. I blame the snowflakes.

This man is dead.

The state needs to explain why.

What he did deserved consequence but not a prison sentence. It was not violent and he had already been punished for past crime.....You don't get punished twice....well you do with activist morons.

A pre-inquest review into his death in Horfield Prison is set to be heard in April, the Bristol Post understands, with a full inquest at the end of the year.

If you don’t want to die in prison... don’t get sent to prison.

I’ve never been to prison and I’m fine.

I believe the courts take into account previous convictions. I attended court to support a mate saw a guy sent to prison just for forging his tax disc. He had a long history of violent street crime. His brief argued he had mended his ways and that he was now in education taking a computer course and the court should be lenient. The magistrate pointed out that he had used his new acquired skills to forge his car tax disc. In other words he had progressed from street crime to white collar crime and that is why he went down.

My mate on the other hand was told by his brief he was going down. He didn't as the same magistrate showed leniency as it was his first offense.

Unfairness in sentencing is often pointed out by the BME community but it is difficult to compare like for like as defendants will often have different previous convictions.

and it would have been classed as a hate crime, virtually all have a term of imprisonment attached.
