More stabbings or a slightly less diverse choice of food.....man, it's such a hard choice.

Weren't you advocating 'reasoned analysis' just a few posts above?

Well 'better' is subjective, obviously, so your straw man argument doesn't hold much weight.

Either way, I'm not sure the quality of life in Croydon is quite the point of the thread, although it's a convenient distraction from discussing the actual issue.

Over serious topics......Not when replying to people who refer to fish and chips when discussing immigration.

It is, and that's why I said I didn't think thi smess was was necessarily political.

However the issue has been known about for some time and the response has been shoddy.

Heperbole? people have been deported. Virtual signalling? Your stock answer when anyone displays anything resembling compassion in a post

They haven't. Close to it, but no actual cases have come to light yet where it has happened.

You just engaged in hyperbolic speech and stated something as a reality that you didn't know is true and isn't actually true from what we know.

Yes, I like the term, 'virtue signal', it does sum up rather a lot of pathetic beta behaviour from a lot of people.

Perhaps I overuse it....but it's a lot of fun.

Out of interest, what would you say.
Is Croydon better or worse due to large scale immigration?

I wasn't alive in the 50s, 60s or 70s so I wouldn't like to speculate.

Either way, I'm not quite sure why it's relevant - whatever your views on immigration, I think everyone should be able to accept that the handling of a lot of these cases has been nothing short of shambolic.

I think perhaps you won't be shocked to find out that the best brains in the country rarely end up in administrative management.

I'm not expecting the best brains in the country (touch hyperbolic, no?) but I don't think a basic level of competence is an unrealistic expectation.
