So all came in at times when we were in dire straits - but whose is the better achievement?

For me Roy - we were 5 games, no goals and no points. Response was not immediate - we went to 7 games, no goals and no points...!!

But since then we have taken 41 points from 30 games - outstanding achievement - beyond my wildest expectations.

Beyond that we are playing really good attractive football - unlike the Pulis and Allardyce tenures.

For me Roy is up there with Sir Steve and El Tel in terms of Palace Managers..!!

Yes, Roy has been by far the best we have had. We are playing exciting attractive football and the future is looking much brighter indeed.

Have to disagree....

Allardyce bought in quality players that RH has relied on, justifiably.

It was the extra quality they brought that has given us the edge this season and last.

Both BS and RH realised that you must be able to attack not just men behind the ball.

No disrespect to TP who did great for us.

Surely it has to be Pulis.

When Holloway left we had just got stuffed 1-4 at home to Fulham, had one win and seven defeats in eight games and were 4 points adrift.

He had no Zaha, had Cameron Jerome up front, turned Puncheon into a playmaker, shifted Ward to midfield enforcer / left back and played a masked Mariappa at r/b.

Talk about making a chicken salad out of chicken s***

Signed Scott Dann, a fantastic buy, and finished 11th!

I'd say Roy, given the start we had, and given how low confidence must've been when he took over.

However, I'd say that if we are comparing rescue jobs and how far they took us as a club...then I'd say Pardews first year trumps the whole lot.

(Tin hat donned!)

If you are basing your argument on players steve parish bought then your argument is NOT.

Haha nice one.

And who could tell, it is so crazy, Pards could do another stint here and take us to winning a trophy as he nearly did.

Timing and luck and sheer audacity can work for you, if only there was a magic formula.

As Neil Warnock said if he could find it he would bottle it !!!!!

Really unfair Alan Pardew is not an option here, despite what people think of him now.

He took over from Warnock who had three wins in 16 games, with CPFC in the relegation zone.

He engineered a massive uplift immediately with wins against Spurs, Man City and Liverpool at Anfield.

We finished in 10th, the highest place since our recent return to the top flight.

And played probably the most watchable football we've seen in the top flight, before it all got a bit silly towards the end!

Looking at the posts on this thread.......

We have been well served by each of them really.

The job for Eagles is to stop getting in such a mess in the first place.

Hopefully RH has seen that, he needs a lot of help to persuade the owners IMO.
