This is just the amount for the personal hurt and damaged feelings....... the sum for loss of earnings and other professional losses is still to be decided in a week or two..... and that could be the bigger settlement as the guy couldn't work for over 2 years until all the accusations were dropped.

An enormous public service. A small price to pay.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

That could be millions, well done BBC wasting public money again.

I hope that some good comes from all this and that the law is changed. It is outrageous that someone can be named and shamed when they haven't even be charged. Even if they are charged I still don't think they should automatically be named, the CPS should apply to the high court with their reasons why it is in the public interest, let a judge decide.

The BBC have also made it niegh on impossible for him to face any charges if anything ever did come to light.

I don't agree with how the Bungling Broadcast Corporation went about this totally wrong.

But there are too many rumours about him for too many years .

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

What about our hurt and damaged feelings having to listen to Mistletoe and wine every year?

A no smoke without fire argument is not a way to judge someone.

Not everyone is the same and famous people attract weirdos and claims, especially over decades.

If there is anything significant I fail to see why it wouldn't come up.

I have always had considerable doubts about this tendency to wait until someone dies before we suddenly hear how they were the devil. People deserve the chance to defend themselves.

If he has done something terrible then like Saville, Richards must be known by many many people. Are they all gutless, spineless individuals? Well, it is the entertainment industry I suppose. All about presentation and shallow as anything.

The BBC acted unethically here, along with the Police and they deserve far worse in my opinion.

I'm surprised that you feel that way Mr Funt as I thought that Cliff Richard's main appeal was to older folk

Take this news artical on the main BBC news app. When is a view a main story?

BAME characters should be 'more central' in children's books - [Link]

Surely views are just views. Another view might be freedom for authors to print what the hell they want To make money?

BAME people? Who comes up with this? What are BAME people called in East London?

If Richard has been arrested for crimes against music.....I don't think he'd ever see sunlight again.
