Possible replacement for Cabaye? Free agent after falling out with Schalke & big clubs not seeming to be interested. A couple of reports say he wants huge wages but if nobody’s biting maybe worth a punt. Perhaps offer what YC was on plus bonuses. Started life as a 10 but improved greatly as a deeper playmaker.

He is a free agent coming from a Cahampions League qualified team. He is sought after by Arsenal and Juventus and others like them. I don't think he would come to Palace.

Everything I’ve seen indicates his agent has put the likes of Arsenal off with wage demands & his perceived volatile attitude toward club officials. If he wants game time in the PL then it’s at least worth a conversation I’d have thought.

great as a free transfer. Sign him up on a 5 year deal. Sell him after 3 years for 25 million....he would have basically played for us for free for 3 years. 25 mill would cover his wages with spare change.

Daily mail said Arsenal didn't want to pay him the requested £4 million a year wages, this works out at about 76'000 a week. Is that a lot nowadays? Where would he sit in terms of highest paid Palace players?

The average wage is 53.000 a week, so abit above the norm

Cabaye was on 100k a week, if this guy wants 70k of that then give it to him. What use is that money if its just sitting there when we need a replacement? On a free as well means we would recoup his wages from a future sale.

I think the trouble would be persuading him to sign for us, when we've signed no-one else, & he left Schalke for a bigger club (which we are most definitely not). Then again, money talks.
Dont let Cabaye go |
