Its a new season, lets hope that he has put his troubles of last year behind him. If he hasn't I can see him going in the January window.

We now have 3 players who can all effectively play the same position, so the pressure will be on to perform.

If he doesn't improve on last season then I can't see him going anywhere. Bang out of form players on high wages are tricky to shift on.

it will be costly and painful to offload him.

But it will be more painful to keep him. Have him taking up a position on the field that somebody else deserves ?

at the very most generous i would bring him on as a sub where the game's outcome is already beyond reasonable doubt. Let him prove himself worthy of the shirt. But i am very doubtful he is an Eagle anymore.

Trouble is we don't have any deserving players to wear the No 9 shirt.I think Benteke now has a point to prove,to say his heart isn't in the club is a trifle unfair.Lets hope he makes all the doubters eat their words.

We stayed up last season with Benteke only scoring 3 ? goals.
He didn't do anything else according some informed Millwall supporters , so if we cannot sell him and he scores say 10 to 15 goals , going by the prices of £50 million for Richarlison we may as well hold on and see how he goes.
Or as the Millwall fans want sell him to them for a million.

its a hard one to assess if Benteke scores 15 for us we are in a good position, going on last season that seems a big ask,

Sorloth looked useful at times last season, Chelsea game he helped to change things but watched him against oxford doesn't seem sure of his roll.

Connor if 100% fit i would pick over the first 2,seems tobe more natural goalscorer,

KaiKai agree with some,i think he has done well in all the friendly's he has played in over the seasons, but not one manager has given him a full match, so maybe this could be the last season we see him in a palace shirt,

I hope in this window before its to late, we get a pacey striker that can keep up with the attack,AJ type player would be good, there must be a gem in the lower leagues that we could buy

Where? Who?

It’s all too easy to throw around platitudes, but unless you have spotted someone no one else has then it is all a bit hollow. I mean, if the lower leagues were full of “AJ” types who could score 30 goals a season in the Prem then management would be easy wouldn’t it.

I am not having a go at you, I am just doubtful that there is better in the lower leagues than we already have.

i said hope not must in the transfer window also would be nice to find a AJ type player that would suit our line up, sadly we need to look in the lower or lesser leagues, because it seems that there is less cash to spend this window,
I have faith in the scouting team because it is hit or miss when looking for that little gem,but they have found them in the past, so lets hope

Personally and I appreciate this doesn't appear to be the view of many on here I'd be happy to keep Benteke and give him another season.

As someone else pointed out he missed the most chances of any Premier League striker last season. On the face of it this looks bad, and it is, but the important thing to note is he's still in the right position to miss those chances. I'd be really worried if he was not only missing chances but also not getting chances. As long as he gets himself in the position to score, I believe it will eventually happen for him.

And one thing we definitely know about Wickham is - you don't get in the position to score from the treatment table unless your nurse is really fit.
