I agree to an extent. I feel he should have said he would prefer a loan possibly with right to buy. If he decided it wasn't for him then he could have returned.

I think there may be similarities with Wilf brought in by a manager who left and finding it difficult to settle. Playing at a lower level may help restore his confidence and thus show why we bought him. He was a hot property when we bought him

I have only been watching the games on my tablet so could be wrong but he looked a bit overweight?

I thought exactly the same

Seems bigger than last year

He's been wearing the loose-fitting style of shirt for some reason, not sure whether he's gained weight

Jairo did not like the tight fit shirt.

He asked for a looser fit, and they obliged.

Interview on the official site a few days ago, looked raring to go for the new season.

Swans have a complete re-vamp, only recognise Olsson.

West Brom with their stars, just got beat at home to Bolton !

In my opinion getting rid of him permanently would be such a backwards move.

He’s one of our most technically gifted players & as always we seem to be disproportionately favouring good old fashioned bruisers.

In my opinion, he’s already a better player than Kouyate & he’s still very young. Wouldn’t for one second be worried about him filling in for Luka if he were to get injured & could quite easily develop into a key player in the future.

Riedewald is the type of player Palace should be holding onto, players of his ilk is what will lead to the football club progressing. But I guess, if we’ve already tried to move him on, the writings half on the wall for his future anyway.

Very disappointing.

Definitely.

Jairo would fit into the Croatia back-line IMO.

Players of his ilk? He has potential certainly , but behave not better than sakho or Tomkins and in no way better than McCarthur , Luka or kouyate and Who are these old fashioned bruisers then?

I think he’s a better player than Kouyate already, as I said. I know I won’t be allowed to think that, because we’ve just signed him, but I do. With his technical ability, he can easily become a better player in the modern game than any of the players you mentioned, given the right development and willingness to evolve from the club.

When I say players of his ilk, I’m talking in terms of potential and style of play. I love Roy as much as the next person but he won’t be here forever and it’s about time we start looking at long term solutions to our club progression & squad depth. Jairo is the most obvious young player we have to keep and develop in the squad, who isn’t quite fitting the first XI.

Letting him go to bring in another middle of the range, average at best striker just seems completely backwards.

Not sure what potential you see , he ain’t a lb , not physical enough to be a cb , is quite tidy as a dm , but he’s shown nothing in any of his games for us to say he would be better than those named , even his passing range is very average , Lukas is vastly superior. Roy and ray have seen far more of him than you or I and they don’t seem to rate him very highly.
