The distribution of wealth in South Africa is totally out of balance, unfortunately they will probably go the same way as Zimbabwe. However there are examples of success in Africa just look at Botswana where corruption (i.e. greed) has been restrained and wealth from natural resources spent on infrastructure.

This might be a small clue as to why Africa is a bit of a mess.

I looked at the BBC report and it showed a sanitised version. Fancy.

I don't get why we adopt a moral position over South Africa Venezuela etc. don't we have similar problems hopefully less but really we are not likely to know before the balloon goes up.

Perhaps they think we are crap too, if they are at all interested.

Well endemic corruption doesn't help.

Agreed.
Far easier to point and shout 'But look over there'............while doing pretty much the same to those that you're addressing.

Ummm i dont quite see the same happening here.
When did you starve and have your business taken away violently with no compo.
The mind boggles.
I suppose we will see some of the same if labour get into power.

I am reading of a UN investigation into poverty levels, in particular 'child poverty' levels in the UK.

So bad things happen here too, we seem not to notice.

Take the lowest level of child poverty in the world.
That is not the same as poverty on this country.
It is worked out with different markers so although there are poor people in england the poverty we suffer is what the worlds poorest would laugh at TBH.

the genocide of South African farmers continues. With little fuss being made in the media about all of this.

some commentators are now reporting that different elements of that country are getting tooled up for a massive civil war.

remember Zimbabwe, it all is beginning to look oh so familiar. If this happens, Will the UK grant asylum to refugees from a genuine warzone ? A year ago it was estimated to have 57 murders PER DAY. What is the current number ?

It's terrible what's happening to the farmers as well as being so self-defeating. The farmers have the expertise and could pass that onto the black Africans but, instead of this, some black Africans decide it's better to murder and mutilate the farmers, as far as I can tell, mainly due to them being white. The world is f*cked.
